  • This is a great video but why are you playing the guitar? There's no guitar I can hear in the song?

  • @ColouredPenguins There's an electric guitar being strummed.

  • Virgin Media can suck my dick. Or Cock. I've been with them three years. Last November one of their retarded installers disconnected my cable so that they could give my next door neighbour a new install. Took a month to get reconnected and speed is appalling. Tossers.

  • im on 50mb virgin media i play xbox live i have a conection problem online games laging out bc of some think could a ping iv been told my ping is to high. it was ok when i was on 20mb

  • @trevorwad

    no wonder

    x box is crap

    im on virgin media 20mg

    and ive got a ps3

    no problem

    must be xbox

  • Dont get confused by Mb (aka meg) and MB btw. For example 10Mb L package

    10Mb being 1 megabit = 0.125 megabytes

10x0.125 = 1.25 MB per sec is your real potential speed even though realisticly I hit 1.1MB/sec max on my downloads. I still dont know why watchdog or trading standards have not gotten onto Virgin Media charging some people more then others for exactly the same product! Existing customers get screwed ie L bb £25 a month, "new" customers after that 12 mnth offer only pay £20 a month!!??

  • @keith23uk Eh?

Have they changed the definitions? Mb IS megabit so 10 Mb = 10 megabit.

There is 8 bits in a byte so 8Mb (Megabit) would be 1 MB (Megabyte)

Though why would you bother using virgin if your not getting cable anyway?

  • I am looking to change my ISP which now is Virgin and is useess. What other options are on the market for a good reliable service in Brentford/London?

  • love it and love the bbc

  • How's your internet CON-nection today?

  • Mitch Benn, could you write a song about iTunes updates. They are crap !!!!

Since version 9 updates none of my iPod's in the house have connected to itunes or Windows !

No more apple products for me

  • @PianoPlayer147 iTunes is shit anyway. VLC or Windows Media Player just work!

  • dont believe there claims about internet speeds, i get about 1-2 mbs and i pay for 50mbs, there a massive liability.

  • @MadHobbit Do you have a cable line running to your house or a BT Line made out of copper?

Or do you go over the daily cap?

  • @RandomDirectors i have a cable line, virgin are a big liability when it comes to providing reliable speeds.

  • HELP!!!!!!!!!!! WE ARE WITH Virgin Media SO THEY THINK MY COFFIN HAS BROADBAND WHEN IM DEAD

  • Virgin did this when my mother died recently...Its really depressing because the first one arrived the day after she died...

  • lol

  • lolz and shitz

  • Fucking jackass.

  • Your reply you deleted about sending the birth certificate....

The only proves a person is born (alive) doesnt prove the person passed away

So if thats all you sent in no wonder they didnt change the account name into a relatives or even closed it

  • all i can say is to not take it too hard on yourself. hang in there. Virgin are simply a corporate company who would make anyone feel depressed to get an extra penny profit. Take solace from the fact that they know what their doing and they DO feel guilt. Big companies will do anything behind the curtains.

  • the process is pretty much similar for most companies

However some are regulated some arent, those who are regulated can be by different companies

    Example: FSA, OFCOM so on...

Im speaking from having worked for the company 3 1/2 yrs but also having worked for the NHS, Homeserve, British Gas, Talk Talk to name but a few

It may sound ludicrus to you these processes but they are in place for a reason...

  • ...

    So whats the reasons

    3 main reasons

    1) Some one trying to change the account name to gain full access to the account

    2) Out of spite (jelouse ex partner, angry neighbour or even relative that has had a massive row)

    3) People running up a bill and then claiming they have died to avoid debt collectors and cancel the services.

Therefore Virgin Media should be empathetic and understanding but re-enforcing the fact the caller would still need to send in to the NCLC a copy of the

  • ....

    death certificate.

However the NCLC doesnt just deal with this type of enquiry, it also deals with complaints of all natures from installers who ran 1hr late to acc holders deceased

There may be a slight delay

For legal and regulatory purposes they cannot suspend the bills, if the person wasnt to be dead they would be preventing the customer from seing their bill.

So as you can see the process is to protect customers and the company however some customers it causes upset

  • Thats like with all companies that provide a service to the public

    You will delight some people

    You will satisfy others

and you will upset a few

Never the less it shouldnt go on for more than 2 months (3 at most if extremely delayed)

Some callers couldnt be bothered to send in the copy of the death certificate

If there not willing to help them selves then it is the caller who is allowing them selves to go thru the grief not the company.

  • @sidewaysthinker I feel sorry for that

  • Watchdog :L

  • then did you see the feature on the tv program

  • Yes I did on the internet I'm Canadian, what I dont agree with is a music video being filmed in a Cemetery thats all, as I am a Funeral Arranger/Manager I just thought it was very very disrespectful I can understand the complaint thats going on and the argument about Virgin, but this should not of been filmed in a cemetery thats all I was saying.

  • they asked all the owners off the graves to get permission

  • well thats alright then isnt it. no harm done, but me I would not of done it, and I'm not arguing I'm just saying I have my own way of thinking on how to get back at companies like this, I remeber when I lived in the U.K and B.T was the same before I left to go back home it was an uncle and they sent a final bill for £600 disconnection and all that it ended up going to court and well lets just say BT paid up over £1,200 for stress and time.

  • my dad got a £800 bill to set up his hd sky box

  • As a mortal being I would love to have a song like this played over my final resting place.

Was that the Grand Union Canal in one of the shots?

  • Good Song! I find myself singing it all the time. Catchy.

  • Awesome song, very catchy!

I have probably watched this song like a million times by now :)

  • this would get a lot more views if it were easier to find..

  • yeah actually putting its title in the name would help!

  • ever throught the dead person or relatives did not stop there contract with virgin? how are virgin ment to know if thats the case

  • The reason this song was written was due to Virgin making it very difficult to either change the name in which the service is provided to, and then when that has been changed (if they havn't been cut off) still send out letters in the name of the dead person.

  • The relatives did try to stop the contract. In 1 case VM lost the death certificate and then sent letters to the dead person.

  • Virgin poor customer service Mostly on the phone and overall poor ---

  • Remember how bad NTL/ Cable&Wireless was?

Virgin took over NTL 3 years ago, to bad they never sorted out their customer services issues.

  • lololololololololol

  • I've been with virgin media since 2006 when it was telewest any problems i've had they have been sorted quickly, but thats just my expirience with them€.

  • absolutly hilarious, makes you feel a bit better as a long suffering Virgin Media customer

  • i've just been dealing with vigin this morning, they made a massive mistake and even broke there own terms and condition.

complete waste of time, they are billing me twice for a netbook after sending me 2, i will be avoiding them once my contract expires.

  • honestly prefer the old style of watchdog. this is more like the one show but good nevertheless

  • right , i hate the new style

  • Pity the BBC cannot highlight such issues as this in a more serious way. This just trivialises it.

  • Hey guys been sourcing good ip, Phone, TV providers for a while and decided the only way to go is a combined package of BT phone £19.50 month unlimited calls any time, virgin tv XL 160 channels £21.50 month, Broadband BETHERE £21.50 month with 24 MEG and its always downloading at above 15 megs = Total Cost £62.50

  • i lve this song 8D

  • This is not remotely funny or engaging..but then neither is Watchdog!

  • Thats kinda the point. Its adding a bit of dark comedy to a really serious problem.

And watchdog is engaging. don't be daft!

  • You are probably a fan of The One Show too then...about as thrilling as watching paint dry

  • i love virgin media but yeah customer service puts it down.

  • playd vdeo today love my dird singing to it by whiste he has grat taste not like virgin

  • catchy but virgin is still the best

  • absolutely spot on! - we had nasty letters after our mum passed away in January this Yr(2009) even the solicitor commented that they frequently have 'issues' with virgin media. Good catchy song.

  • There is no doubt about it, Vrigin are not particularly good at dealing with these sorts of incidents but i hardly think a protest video where a man dances about in a cemetery is going to do much good!

  • Damn, that's pretty catchy

  • My parents are with sky, and we've had a few connection problems. Each time they said it was due to a tree in our garden. My dad butchered that beautiful magnolia... no tv still :'[ In fact after getting our picture back and the same thing happening three times over, sky blamed it on the same tree (which some how came back to life) and was then re-hacked only to provide no picture(again). So it's either death by tree or recieving bills beyond the grave (at which point I'd die all over again).

  • Great tune, should make more catchy tunes like this! LOL!

  • I agree littleb125

  • My friend once phoned them to cancel, and then they didn't cancel by agreeing to give them virgin media plus...but still...

I love this song! SPREAD this one like plague and avoid Virgin like plague...(though the latter's late for moi - My parents already have it - though we have no troubles and they won't be gone for a long time.)

  • great video when watcdog on again and how i get as ringtone and play it 2 they call center

  • now thats a good idea

  • lol!

  • I saw the story on Watchdog and do think some of the customer service as reported was poor. That said, I'm a Virgin Media customer and my experience has been almost entirely positive. Once you get to speak to someone in the right department, customer services can be great. It's getting past the jobsworth that initially answers the call which is challenging, I've found!

  • Any reason to need to defend Virgin in 4 consecutive posts, ajhomryder... or should I say, Mr. Branson :p

  • Wish I was mate I would have a fortune!!! ;)

  • SHIT!

  • Im with Sky. They are not great, but they beat Virgin hands down.

    Take that Branson.

    WALLOP!!!!!!

  • Trust me when I say when your with SKY your worse off period!!!!

  • AS an ex Virgin now Sky cuatomer I will second that - but don't turn your back or even Sky will do the dirty on you.

  • lol - nice

  • I think this guy is BRILLIANT!!!

I'm now really glad i told my gran not to go with Virgin

  • My parents were thinking of moving to this I don't think they'll want to now

  • I'm With Virgin. The quality is Crap. I have Damaged Eye Sight from the picture quality.Richard Branson. Your a fuking dickhead. Get a grip. Virgin Staff. When we complain. We expect to get an answer.

  • And the rest of us expect people to be able to use sensible language. I would not want to speak to you if this is how you carry on.

  • lol

  • i love this! (Y)

  • The BBC are hardly perfect themselves.

They edited out all the negative comment about the new format of Watchdog, then deleted the page when it got too much!

Their supposed to be impartial, yet don't like it when their customers gave feedback about the quality of their product!

  • you cant blame them for that - but even if you could, the BBC arent the issue here and wont do this kind of thing

  • Still better than lying though.

  • title should be virgin mail dead people

  • How about this. Internet was down for ages, called tyhe indian call center and booked an engineer.

A week later, we were tired of waiting and managed to call a UK callcenter. UK customer support rep fixed the issue instantly. No need for an engineer.

  • virgin do answer the calls asap but the staff dont care about your problem, 3-4 months ago i phoned to book repairs and they said they would send someone out tomorrow then they cut me off (disguseted) so i waited the next day & no turned up when i phoned virgin back to ask why he did'nt turn up & accroding to virgin no repair was booked. this has happen 3 times in 11months, sky take about 1-3 hours to anwser calls

  • I am with Virgin and as a company they are pretty good i've not had any problems per say the only issue for me is the call centres are in india and when i need technical help with broadband or TV it's a nightmare trying to get them to understand and vice versa. Despite this i would still rather deal with Virgin than BT or Sky!

  • I live there!

  • VM Customer Services must go to stonewalling conventions: "sorry that you feel you have been treated unfairly but Virgin Media have acted within their Terms and Conditions and in accordance with Offcom guidelines", and "it is regrettable that you weren't given the appropriate package but it is not Virgin Media's responsibility to tell you about all their packages". Can anyone recommend a good all round service provider (tv, telephone and broadband)?

  • I dumped Virgin and went to Sky but all big ISP's have got you by the short and curleys. Thinkbroadband site rates Sky as best all rounder but this is only with 33% customer sartisfaction. Virgin 's is 21% customer satisfaction. They all see us as cash cows.

  • Had a v high phone bill due to a hospital number to my very ill father. Rang VM to explain situation and can they help by offering a better package. VM said Talk Unlimited better tho' would not include prem/mob numbers, so I agreed to the package. A month later they barred calls to my dad and mobiles without notice. Only way to lift bar was to pay in full there and then.I pay by DD, never defaulted. Aggressive action? There is a better package Talk Anywhere 800 incl mob and premium numbers.

  • I suggest recording all conversations when dealing with ISP's over the phone, that way everybody has a copy of the recordings they routinely tell they are making before speaking with companies reps.... same go's for any business on the phone, record it !!

  • I'm afraid you should probably read up a bit more before you start the slanderous comments. Just for your information, she was never charged by the Police, but of course you wouldn't be interested in that. You prefer the slimy comments.

  • virgin have become a crap isp! I've had nothing but trouble with online gaming through them for a year now! and I've had nothing but trouble with trying to get it sorted and getting no where.

  • yep same problems with online gaming if you play call of duty 5 you will find all ports are closed on virgin media's side but they say there not.

  • im with virgin media and ive had no problems, they answer the phones in the call centre quickly and theyre really helpful...

wheras i had sky and it was absolute shit, the slightest bit of bad weather and i couldnt get tv picture.... paying for something wasnt getting.... not very helpful either

  • I have sky :)

  • i get told we have 20mb but when we try the online tester virgin told me to use its only around 5mb :( we need something done virgin cant keep doing this to us as virgin can bump more power for the internet to our homes easyer then BT.. where is my 20mb speed VIRGIN GRRRRRRRR

  • if you download 1500mb between 10:00-00:00 they will cap your speed for 5hours to around 1mbps-5mbps i had the same problem so i upgraded to the 50mbps service 2weeks ago where there is no capping but so far have a top speed of 30mbps more carp service from virgin media & to top it of my monthly bill is £128 per month

  • your talking rubbish about the cap sorry, never happened to me.

  • google search virgin media capping & click traffic managment top one

An example of how this works is that if a broadband Size: L (10Mb) customer downloaded 1500MB of data between 4pm and 9pm, their download speed would be temporarily set to up to 2.5Mb and their upload speed to up to 128Kb for 5 hours. which makes 20Mb drop to 5Mb

  • itsmy tv thats the problem, it never bloody works, it takes half hour for a programme to play..grrrrrrrr..........

  • I wish we had back telewest and ntl: home back. than virgin media

  • yes mr Branson I also like to have a 1 to 1 chat with you. and tell you how virgin media are thecrap company there are I will never go bk..

  • I love how people are instantly berating Richard Branson. Because Obviously he's the guy at fault rather than the line managers, distract heads and regional managers. He OWNS the company, he doesn't manage it day to day, yeesh.

  • this song is as bad as virgin media customer services.

  • Credit where credit is due though; Virgin Customer Services make even BT, Orange and Sky Customer Services look good.

It's some acheivement. Well done Dicky.

  • By lost I bet it went astray in the post, any one can say they sent it, even the living dead, who are the real cause of problems like this and manipulate the system so unethically. Legit cases are really sad and there should just be a database where deaths are logged to update companies, but then people just wine about their right to privacy and turnover to watch big brother.

  • Possibly a common scam of the common people claiming to be dead to not pay their bills is the reason for this, the phrase accounts in order may apply here, grieving people often need somewhere to vent their anger at mortality. Watch dog should look at three who tell you to complain on line if you want your complaint ignored and after receiving a letter with 39 complaints on call you up calling them points because only if theyre logged on line are they acknowledged as complaints.

  • In two of these cases, another family member wanted to transfer the account and keep their telephone and broadband. Virgin cut them off and continued to write to the deceased. In the third case, they lost the death certificate. Not much of a scam if they provide a death certificate, and want a refund of £11.

  • It is about time the big companies listened to "The word on the street". A first impression is everything but a lasting impression is priceless, come on Richard B no one is too big to be toppled.

  • Dear Mr Branson How come you dont start making Pickle

  • thats bransTon

  • That was pissing joke. Pun based humour, have you heard of it? Yes! Of coarse you have because you are a smart arse.

  • Why thank you for the compliment :)

It took years of good quality education to attain this level.

Education also helps with the creating and understanding of jokes... try it, you might like it .

  • By the way is Branson Pickle

  • virgin media are crap they stiffed me,I had been a customer for alot of years since the days of nynex.

  • Dear Mr Branson stop just being a face and be a man and sort it out before your name goes right down the toilet....I use to have the top unlimted internet with YOU...but shut it down when your company started to take the pee and wanted £300 to put me 50 meg.

  • Dear Mr Branson in this world all you have is your name....The way your going you wont have that for long...

    yours sincerely

    Phill

  • I hope you see this Mr Branson...I would like to have a one 2 one chat with you and tell you how bad I have been treated by your company

  • virgin media has been getting away with poor customer service for a very long time. posting videos on youtube isn't going to make much of a difference. Branson needs a kick up the arse.

  • Virgin media customer services are muppets!

I WOULD NOT TRUST THEM TO SIT ON A TOILET SEAT THE RIGHT WAY

  • ska <3

  • As we all know Virginmedia uses people from abroad to answer their calls!! If you don`t want someone from india then just put the phone down like I do all the time until you get someone from uk...... It will work eventually in stopping them using cheap labour!!! As for the broadband I have been using ntl and virginmedia for over 10 years and found the service GREAT!! it`s the call centres in india that piss me off....... No offence to indians it`s just life.

  • yep they need to bring this work to uk and only hire people from the uk as they going on about unemployment rates going up & up well this would bring them down same goes to sky, more so on the 3network as they never understand my problem or dont really care

  • Erm your wrong there may sound like they are abroad but they are in the UK.

  • I was thinking of swapping back to Virgin (changed when they lost Sky1) because they were saying fiber optic is quicker than copper, this gives me second thoughts.

  • they say its fibre optic but the cable coming from outside to your tv or broadband is copper

  • It is fibre optic until the top of your street.

This is because you need special boxes to decode fibre optics, so they install this equipment in those green boxes and then from those green boxes to your house is copper.

If it wasn't like this, your router would be fucking huge.

  • WHY NOT A WATCHDOG FOR TAXI FARE, BUS FARE INVAIDERS,

  • trust _only_ the ISP's that offer a one month contract

with NO cancellation fee of any kind, you'll know then that they are working to keep your business... with a 12 or 18month contract they literally have you by the b****

copy n paste this everywhere you can please...

maybe that will help to stir things up ?? if enough people do it that is

    ...ahh go on ...

  • Tell us who this wonderful ISP is then?

  • just go have a look on ispreview (dot) co (dot) uk

    its in the top ten.

like I said, go with only one month contracts then you can get free if need be.

in my experience all one moth contract ISP's offer a decent service.... just don't expect the same prices virgin/pipex and the like offer, you get what you pay for

I've never evn contacted tech support at my ISP, the only contact I've had`(cept the billl) is when they added features to my service. been with current one 3 years

  • I pay a little more than you would for these so called 'unlimited' services ( that aren't really unlimited as we all know) and I'm glad to pay that little extra because its worth the extra tenner to not have to phone up trying to get a service sorted out , paying for phone calls to an ISP where you can't even understand what the rep is saying/or they you etc etc etc etc etc etc ...

honestly, best thing I ever did for my internet service was to go on monthly contract...

  • virgin was ok with me when in the UK... had issues, got sorted , eventually... tota refund as they couldn't provide me with speed above half a Mb... took some proofing and many phone calls letters etc ... but I am a tenacious MF

now pipex, they totally are the scum of the earth IMHO

Oh and Otello, they are a TOTAL waste of time... "a Shakespearian tragedy" was the best way I have heard them described.

trouble is most all ISP's have free run and no one can do much of anything about it.

  • I agree about ISPs being bullies but if we don't complain then nothing changes.

  • even if you do complain nothing changes with the majority of ISP's , once they have you signed up for 12 or more moths... your basically stuffed .

  • otello and ofcom are of little use as they have no powers only can suggest a course of action, I found that out after 6 months of hassle with pipex. so not even complaing improves things... switching to one month contracts DOES change things, the more peeps who do that ... the bettr as they know you will leave at the end of the month if their services are rubbish so they work harder to keep you

  • song is great hopefully virgin will take note

and richard branson will sit up an say sorry

  • I did hear that Branson can only be in the UK for 4 more days this year because of a tax fiddle that means he doesn't have to pay all that he should. I couldn't possibly comment.

I'm a Virgin customer and tend to leave faults for months rather than ring a call centre in India.

  • Well I think its safe to say I'm very put off using Virgin now. To think Richard Branson couldn't even spare half an hour for Watchdog as he's only in the UK 4 days before Xmas. Hang on.. Isn't this his country? .. and he can't spare his own people some time to explain his sorry attitude?

Disgusting... even sending bills to the dead making life harder for his widow. They should be ashamed of themselves.

  • Can we have lyrics in the sidebar please?

  • song 2 of the album will be called"baffling billing"

  • Saw the programme and this had made me think - where's Richard Branson ?. - On the moon !.

  • Don't know how true this is - but when I complained to Virgin and mentioned Richard Branson they told me he has nothing to do with Virgin Media management.

  • Think the song is great and if it helps thats the main thing good luck

  • with NTL i was happy whatever speed i payed for net i was geting no matter what time of day or night.but when virgin took over i get half speed of net what i pay for.i dont think they should even say upto as they not even giving closer then what speed they advertise.i got so feedup with slow speed so signed up 50meg which gives me 22--34meg now when i pay 50meg i should get 50meg.not happy

  • i prefered the telewest days, at least they treated me more of a customer than virgin do

  • I couldn't agree more, Telewest worked OK

  • you should be able to get out of the contract, as they're not providing what you signed up for. go to ofcom about them, then you'll see a difference.

virgin of course won't take a bit of notice to this video, we had them at our house 3 times in 4 days, and our broadband is still shit. they say it's because we have the phone, broadband, and tv package, with 2 tv set top boxes (one v+) and that the system can't handle that many. yet they still advertise you can have all these without a problem!

  • well i have 2 v+ boxes, 2 v boxes, 50mbps broadband & phone line and yes very poor service, i dont no if you remember the tv advert about rip off dvd's and how the bad picture q. will damage your eyes well im paying £128 per month for the same quality i do not wear glasses but since using virgin i have booked i eye test as my vision has a blur to it, no wonder people turn to p2p sites

  • Its about time all the big companies stopped treating us as cash-cows and started treating us like people - paying customers - who keep them in business!

I switched from Virgin to Sky but I have no illusions as to how they see me - just another Sky cash-cow to be milked until dried up.

  • Mitch Ben, very funny man. Might get better results than writing a letter

  • Worked for this company when called NTL.

Not only the customers they treat bad, but employees also.

  • first time iv'e heard it called that....first time for everything i geuss

  • great song made me smile go with sky stick virgin.

  • this is really good. i hope theywake up and listen now. this is why i use the internet and risk my eyesight...

  • 'tis amazing :D going straight on facebook to get as many views as possible :)

  • totally and completely worth every penny of the liscence fee. I <3 U BBC.

  • I'll stick with Sky thanks! Hilarious song, nice one.
