  • NINJA ! MÍTICO

  • Simply beautiful. Bliss.

  • Jurassic-5 has a great version I just bought from iTunes. I searched YouTube for that version to no avail. I saw this, my head almost exploded! And I shared it to facebook. The guitarist in my band probably hates me now.

  • SORRY, I thought it was BRAZILIAN!

    WONDERFUL VIDEO, CONGRATULATIONS!

  • ÓTIMO!

    PARABÉNS!

  • Beautiful melody played so well! Thank you!

  • you are a true inspiration to me. thank you for your performance.

  • Bravo! Amazing version! I don't suppose you could do a slowed down version of the chorus (1min14sec? I have the tab from brazil-on-guitar but am finding it difficult to get this bit sounding right....

  • @robbiejustice100

Put it on a micro-cassette and hit the half speed button, this puts the music down

almost an exact octive. I have transcribed quite a few guitar pieces this way, most notably:

"Cornflower Suite", on my channel; a 13 minute twelve string guitar masterpiece by Suni McGrath...

  • @robbiejustice100

To slow things down I import a track into audacity, select the section I want to hear slower, go up to "Tools" (i think that's the menu), and then "Change Tempo" (not "Change Speed" as that will lower the pitch as well). In the 'change tempo' window there's a slider you can pull one way or the other.

    btw, Audacity is free.

  • i saw this video about a year ago, now i been playing my guitar ever since...its these type of videos that make people do things great. thank you :D

  • this is great! I just recorded a version with drums myself, check it out and let me know what you think!

  • @markpafc great version, btw...

  • This is delicious, Baden would be proud, for sure!

  • Excellent

  • Tony, your version is amazing, like everything you do here on You Tube. Next week I'll be posting here on this site, a version made by me, with that modulation to F Major.

Greetings and congratulations, towards the one hundred thousand visitors!

    thanks!!

  • You make this look so effortless....very lovely.

  • Muito bom parabéns.

  • man, it's very good to know that there are people like you that respect and love Brazilian culture all over the world. what a pity many people here in Brazil don't have this same respect...

  • Lovin the feel of this song; keep it up man

  • Such a clear and yet powerful melody! Great dissonance arrangement in 1:35-39 too!

  • beautifully played! Im truing to learn Canto de Ossanha and some passages are tough, especially with the fast rythm (88) and syncopation and my hands are small so the frets 5 to 1 are a long stretch. Your video is an inspiration. Thanks!

  • Beautifully played! I'm trying to learn it and some tough passages especially with the rythm (88) and I have small hands so the frets 5 and 1are a long stretch!! Your playing is a great inspiration. Thanks!

  • muito bom

    quase sem erros parabens

  • excellent performance, dude!

  • Very good. I picked this song to a time when she was younger. Perfect clear sound and without scratches. Very good, I'm Brazilian and here comes this song very much. Samba is inspiring. Thank you for helping this support in spreading the music who ever heard.

  • Amazing ! I can say that you belong to brazilian music, brother ! I'm brazilian ! Well done, brother !

  • can u post de tab?

  • ABSOLUTELY SUPERB- My all time favourite music from South America.

  • Caraca .... é quase igual como toco ... sensacional ... parabéns

  • Fantastic as usual troubleclef!

  • Incredible. Been playing for ten years myself, lets hope when i reach twenty years ill be able to play so fluidly.

  • is there tab for this anywhere :P also this guy is badass for always having an open finger for the bassline... I'm trying to play it without even including any of the middle voices and I'm having a hard time keeping that bassline going... only so many fingers you know

  • remarkable...

  • Very nice song!!! I like the way you play!

  • This is the clearest most accurate nicest sounding version I could find. I watch it over and over trying to learn in. Good job man and thank you for uploading this!

  • Great! Thats the way to do it.

  • Bravo !

belle ligne de basses, bien rythmé !

    j'adore !

  • Your version is amazing. I´m working in my own arragement of the song based in in baden´s version and your performance. I hope someday it will be as fluid and funky as yours. You have been a true inspiration. Thank you very much, greetings from Argentina

  • @AngelManXX thanks, buddy. send me a link when you post it

Very well played and faithfull to the version of Baden, from the album "Sadness on guitar". I was gonna try to learn this instrumental version by ear, you made a lot easier to me by uploading this video. Thanks and congratulations to you for the good performace!

  • @Brenorff

I've worked on and off and adding the modulation into Fmajor mid way through the Dmajor section which is found in a number of versions most notably (i think) the original Baden and Vinicius album with Quarteto em Cy doing the background vocals.

On that recording instead of playing the major section in D twice through, you modulate for the 2nd half into F which is a little weak on solo guitar but can be made to work. Then the fmajor slides back into Dminor for the repeat of part 1

  • Hi...you have a very soft jazzie sound...sounds great. Is the guitar that you are using a Flamenco Guitar?

  • thanks. nope, i'd call it a hybrid classical (narrower neck, cutaway, electronics, fret indicators) but not a flamenco.

  • that sounds great! Im having a lot of trouble with the bass line. do you have any tips on getting the base line solid? I have been practicing fro while but i cannot get a clear sound or rhythm from the bass line.

  • that's always the problem at the beggining. keep practicing, maybe start with simple rythms. just remeber, the bass is always in the same tempo. you'll get there.

  • Boa gringo!!!

    Mandou muito bem...

    um abraço do Brasil..

  • i really like the way you play this song, i love vinicius de moraes, congratulations! hugs from Brazil! It's nice to know how brazilian songs are apreciate in other contries. bye

  • Do you know who did this transcription? I have a version that is just slightly different, but I like yours better.

  • i probably learned it from the same one you're looking at, but then i deviated from the score at some point. google for "brazil on guitar" if you haven't already.

  • thnx - great playing btw

  • great job! this is a beautiful song. I was just wondering though... what is a good way of getting the rhythm down? Some of the syncopation's or whatever you might call them are sorta funky..

  • for sure. I don't think I've got them down, either. but the best way to learn is to start with the original recording (Os Afro Sambas by Baden and Vinicius) then a number of great remakes (Elis, Tamba Trio, Baden's own re-recordings). Also study the score at brazil-on-guitar . de. I think they have a couple of different versions. good luck

  • wow that was wonderful, in the original song the 6th string tuned in D or it was your arrangement?

anyway good job, did you get a sheet of it or just by ear?

keep up at the good work!

  • wow! that was amazing!! Do you have the music scores ?

I can play that song, but not in this classical way :)

    Congratz from Brazil!

  • Awesome Rhythms, beautifully played..:-)

    Just Great!

    patrick

  • Muito bonito! Parabéns!

    Abraços do Brasil.

  • Very very nice performance. I enjoyed it very much. You've inspired me to pick up the song asap. The version you play now, what version is it? I use the Baden Powell-music on Brazil on guitar.

  • please, can anyone send me the tabs of this song?

  • where can I find the sheet music to this?

  • I like so much your work!!! but i have a question, what kind of camera and mic did you used?

  • thanks. i think at this time it was a little usb mic and webcam. i've gone thru a number of setups so i'm not sure.

  • i just got the guitar out to check and find that this is at regular pitch (with a drop d of course)

  • Hi ! I've really appreciated your version of this great song ! But I have one question to ask you : didn't you tune your guitar one tone under (for the lower E, in all cases) ?Cause like I have the chords & lyrics under my eyes, I've tried to play "with" you, but I've found that you were 1 tone under, I've changed of guitar twice, I've noticed the same thing ! Your Taylor sounds well, must be a good guitar, with a Fishman preamp, I think !!!5* is how I've rated this version. Well done ! BYE !

  • i tune my steel string guitars down a half step a lot but usually not my nylon as on this video. so i'm not sure now.

  • Hi ! I write again cause I've taken, all my guitars, a tuner, and had all tuned them. You are not 1 tone under, just a little bit, but I was wrong, my guitar was tuned a little bit too jigh, so I've thought that you had tuned your guitar one tone under, but no, now that I had tuned my guitar, I could have heard that you were just a little bit under, not 1 tone. Not really an essential thing, but it's always better to be tuned with an A440. I've told that not for criticising, just like that. BYE

  • It's not tuned under anything. The music is in D minor, and the E string is tuned in D.

  • Hi ! you're right, after having played some notes "with you", I've heard that the E string is tuned in D. I didn't wanted to criticise, when I've first herd you playing, like I had the score of that song under my eyes, I've tried to play "with you", but I couldn't cause of two things ; the fact that your E string is tuned in D, and the fact that my guitar wasn't exactly tuned in A440.Since I've tuned it, in A440, there's just the E string tuned in D. THKS for having answered. BYE !

  • really great cover

  • excellent.

  • exellent !! performance indeed ! bravo 5*****, patrick

  • excelente tu interpretacion ,saraba

  • Very good, I like it

  • I love your versions Clef, my sister and I both play the guitar and worship you!! Thanks for making it easier for us newbies to play such beautiful songs.

  • Excelente maestro!!

  • it is meant to be played un-literally

thats why the tab goes on and on, the idea is that you play with the rhythms..

i'm learning to play it now, but the second part is kinda hard.. next week i should be able to play it from the heart =), not by far as fluently as you tho

  • 2:31.. gets me everytime! the build-up to amazing!

  • Oh my god.. just.... wow!

very good, very well played, flawless ;D

  • fuck yeah this song is so sick

  • very good brother, i like your feel. What nationality are you?

Damn the bus going past tho!

Is this your own version or did you get the music from somewhere?

    A

  • i think the version is available from "brazil on guitar". google for that and check the tabs section. thanks

  • yeah it is, thanks, you play the second section/chorus part differently to whats written tho.

Its a really good website. Do you know of anywhere as comprehensive for Jobim tunes?

    A

  • yeah, i don't play it literally correct. i just kind of take off in my own errant direction.

well, Jobim would be a little different, no? brazil-on-guitar is dedicated to transcribing the work of a soloist, where Jobim is known more for his writing than for his piano soloing.

But no, I don't know any specific site for scores of Tom that would be similar to this.

  • Ive searched and found some tab but most is annoyingly inaccurate. Sure Jobim is known for his writing but I really like his guitar playing and if im gonna learn a tune i wanna play the chords the person who wrote it plays/played :(

    A

  • respect =)

  • Baden would be proud!

  • so awesome! i love it!

  • la neta te kedo chingona man, ahora mismo la voy a estudiar la pieza!!!!tnks

  • Maravilhoso!

  • troubleclef,

i'm very proud of your work!!!

Congratulations for your awesome guitar playng.

I play the guitar too, but i'm far behind you!

If someday you could share any tab, we will be very greatful.

Cheers form Brazil, keep going with your amazing work!

  • really good playing!

you should hear the jurassic 5 version...

it's on my channel if you want to hear it

  • your singing with your fingers:))

  • sorry guys where can i find the tsb ? thanks
