I've seen worse but their footwork still needs a lot of work because that front foot is moving a lot without the back and it's dangerous to lose your balance in a bout that way.

This has to be one of the best produced video for the worst fencing in the world! You have hit a new genre in fencing promotion and give the editor an Oscar but the fencers a wooden spoon! Who is the coach, Ray Charles?

I agree 100%, but it should be noted the fencers in it had maybe four months of training at this point.

Well I had more, but the only time I'm shown I'm doing a drill, not fencing.

Almost nobody from the video is part of the club anymore.

I'm a friend of a few of the current RU fencers, and attend their practices once in a while. I dont attend RU and I did not fence with them when this was filmed..

None of the sabre fencers in this video currently fence with Radford anymore. I dont really know the story behind why the sabre is like that. But yea, I agree it sucks. lol

I'll have to talk to them at their next practice about this video lol.

Heard a rumor that the fencing club was moving off campus due to disputes with the administration... Just a rumor?

No not off campus. The Dispute is they aren't allowing us to keep our fencing gear on campus (because they are swords) so the fencing club is loking for a place off campus to store the gear.

Did not know Radford Uni. had a fencing club. I'm with a group of antique /repro. sword collectors, practitioners of historical fencing (German longsword) and wee bit of modern sabre thrown in. We are the Roanoke Valley Sword Guilde and train at Greenhill Park - Salem on Tuesday eveenings.

I also playing in the Va. Highlands Pipes & Drums...the "house band" for RU.
