I also had the honor of singing this song under the direction of our beloved Mr. Wetson. Such a beautiful song with lyrics that really pull at those heart-strings! But to know Mr. Weston, to love him the way we did- we do- makes this song a more than just a nice farewell song. It is a piece of his legacy. I am so glad that others continue to sing his song with the same emotion. It's beautiful in that.
it's a farewell concert. in other words, people who have been singing with eachother for as long as 8 years are leaving. it's a bit emotional. you try singing while sobbing hysterically. if you want to see the "best performance", go to a non-farewell concert one.
no one sings this song better than san marino. NO ONE.
i don't know if this will make a difference to you, but we sing this song only at our farewell concerts, so at least half of us are in tears by the 2nd line of the song.
