Rhodesian Ridgeback Trying to Stay Awake but Falling Asleep

Ace dog. Mine is 12 now and real sleepy after/before dinner and/or walks lol

We loved our RR so much that we gave him his own room, later, when he began becoming a genius dog, he began biting the door handle to his room, so as to let himself get out. When he began developing guard dog skills, self trained (we believe no dog should be trained into a weapon defensive or otherwise) he began doing the same to Me/My GF's door, then every night at exactly 11:27 pm he would wake up, open his door, come check on me and the current girl I was with ;) and then shut our door.....

@cmbosis and even sometimes when he felt the room was too cold, he would slap the fan switch with his tail...... If you are thinking about getting a dog... and maybe you have children don't worry. These are great animals. They only circumstances an RR will be violent is when all of the following apply 1. The dog is male 2. The dog is in heat 3. The dog is being held in an unsafe way, I.E. around the neck 4. Some person who should not be around dogs in the first place decides to blow on his face

Ridgebacks were meant for hunting, and also as guard dogs, in the comments above, i will/have told you a story about mine
