  • This song is more early punk that psychedelic

  • can you write here who is at 01:19 and at 01:57 and what dothey want with roger syd and rick

  • @SydBarrett997

i think this film from when they were recording at abbey road.. my guess is friends or roadies, but if you find out for sure let me know

  • @elexenstudios

ok maybe at 01:57 is bob klose

  • This is too much for me in stereo. I can't fucking do it. Fuck this.

  • I would like to know who the young lady in the video wearing miniskirt is?

  • @BoyArgentina alice d

  • I dig it so many of my fave singers & song writers are all (like me) cat lovers who either write entertaining songs about cats (Syd), and/or are on record as being cat people & even impersonate cats with meows, purrs, or screeches in their songs! e.g. "Perfume": Hope Sandoval [withe the JAMC]; "Catwalk": Siouxsie Sioux; "Middle of the Road": Chrissie Hynde [The Pretenders].

I say a house is not a home without a few resident domestic midget "lions", "tigers", "cougars",or "panthers" around!

  • Here kitty kitty!

  • Watch out for the idiotcops!

  • my god syd was so fucking awesome

  • The studio title to this song was "Percy the Rat Catcher" during the recording sessions

  • @MrMadcapLaugh

Yes. Isn't early Pink Floyd the best?

  • YES!!!! THANKS

  • High quality sound here ♫

  • i've been a piper at the gates of dawn for over 20 years

  • Reached my own top album charts in 74...ahah....

  • 118 to nil pink flloyd's the shit

  • the band coca pretencious songs? thats the most stupid comment I've ever read

  • There's Pink Floyd, and then there's Pink Floyd. Amazing how a band has a name which has equally strong associations with psychedelia, epic prog-rock odysseys and sinister 60's pop like this. How many more different bases can an ensemble cover and excel at all of them?

  • @jimvonfunk Check out the Beatles

  • @teveve31 if only they'd lasted 10 more years.

  • trippin

  • Really cool tune. Its what makes the 60s seem dark and mysterious to me.

  • @blackhawk10972 I completely agree

  • Whos is that guy keeping panties?

  • Groovy song.

  • pink floyd made 12 minute songs at the time. later was when they shortend them

  • I loved syd barrett but man listening to him you can help but feel sadness

  • I love this tune. Syd was a good guitar player.

  • oh yes just beat the ol Classic Pink Floyd .

  • Excellent guitar work by Syd. Lyrics are spectacular. The footage is PRICELESS!!!

This video is pure extravagence to any early floyd fan, and especially to SYD fans!

  • i know that the floyd's cambridge friend nigel lesmoire-gordon was taking a lot of film footage of them around this time. it is he who filmed 'syds last trip'.

  • They were better with Syd.

  • @moriluk No better. They were different. 1970s (hard rock era) was just around the corner. How long Syd could be on top with his psychedelic music? I like Syd music, but it had place only in the 1960s

  • @jazu40

It is impossible to say what Syd would have done had he not withdrown into seclusion. I will always think he was the most talented member. And his 2 solo albums in my opionion are better than anything they did in the 70's except Animals.

  • Can a video be MORE PERFECT? WOW London circa 67, this is Awe Inspiring!

    This footage is PURE GOLD!

  • awesome footage of ole swingin' London-town circa '67. Wish I had a time machine.....

  • @thebandcoca

You don't understand progressive music, so don't say shit things...duration of a music doesn't mean that it's worse or better...So respect the Progressive Rock.

  • @firishte1 what happens if you have listened to tons of prog rock, but still think it's shit like, say,me for instance?

  • Ah when Pink Floyd made good tunes not pretencious 12minute songs

  • um, interstellar overdrive was 11 minutes. but I see what you're saying...though I like some of those pretentious songs

  • yeah me too. Sort of anyway.

  • @elexenstudios i like all of them and the ones that have 2 mins of nothing before the song starts or bells ringing lol i just fast forward to the instrumentals

  • @elexenstudios so was nicks boogie a suacer full of secrets and just about every song of off ummagumma was longer than 12 minutes.

  • @airsoft25g yeeeeeeeeh mothafucka. ummagumma is fucking amazing as fuck on acid. well all long songs in the early days by floyd was epic as fuck Suacer is fucking amazing too...pink floyd is pink floyd until the wall. That shit is just not my thing.

  • @Badman2123 Ummagumma is absolutely frightening on acid.

  • @elexenstudios

the dif is that in like interstellar overdriv they get all crazy

andin new albums like in atome mother heart the songs havelike 3 to 5 min of almost unhear sound but i like alot of later material

  • @elexenstudios I don't think he was talking of interstellar overdrive :)

  • What a surprise, another gratuitous backhanded slap at the post-Syd band by a self-appointed musical pseudo-intellectual. It's spelled p-r-e-t-e-n-t-i-o-u-s. If you must be a pedant, at least learn how to spell.

  • @thebandcoca What about Atom Heart Mother? (suite) 23 mins.

  • @thebandcoca but...i really like wish you were here!!! (4 parts)

  • @thebandcoca If pretentious 12 minute songs are not your thing, then Floyd might not be the band for you

  • @sandro28grizz Couldn't have said it better myself. Rather than pretentious I'd much rather think of their songs as melodic symphonies of a profound and incredibly unique nature. Able to extinguish the lies We've been conditioned to have faith in by instilling a belief in freedom. Each time I experience a Pink Floyd song my perception is elevated to plains I didn't even know existed. The depths of their creativity matches those of Beethoven and Mozart.

  • @TheGreatZurEnRaah I don't think they are pretentious, I was just quoting someone else. I love Floyd, Yes, Genesis, ELP, and all of the other 70s stuff that's usually called pretentious by the "rock purist" idiots.

  • @sandro28grizz I'm sorry if I didn't make myself clear. I was actually agreeing with you and what you said to thebandcoca and than just giving my opinion of what Pink Floyd means to me. Sorry if that was confusing I didn't mean to be insulting or anything like that. It was my fault for not being mor specific. "rock purist" HAHA I love that : )

  • @thebandcoca : I don't totally agree with you, when speaking, for example, about Echoes or Animals. But I have to admit you're sometimes right : some songs on Umma Gumma can be usefull... to test the sound of your hi-fi^^ !

  • @thebandcoca "Ah when Pink Floyd made good 13th floor elevators´ rip offs not pretencious 12minute songs". Easter everywhere!!!!!!!!!!

  • @thebandcoca - They weren't pretending.

  • @thebandcoca

I like all of their songs. And I actually prefer Dark Side of the moon and meddle over any other album

  • @thebandcoca Maybe the difference was Syd barrett ? : )

  • The groups that cover this leave out the keyboards and the loose improv echo style of Syd, only leaving in the catchy hook Riff. Maybe we wouldn't have heard of Floyd at all if he didn't leave. Just tragic that he couldn't pull himself together to give us a bit more than the two solo albums. I'm sure his playing would have improved but I doubt he practiced much in the mid seventies. I can only guess his confidence must have been low in those bleak years.

  • syd barrett

  • i can explain barrett

    he's a fucking genious rocker :)

  • brilliant

  • the best
