Sunni does not equal Sufi. All sufis are NOT sunni. There are Shia mystics as well. Many like Allamah Tabatabai (ra) with many keramat/miracles and extraordinary lives mashAllah. Tru tassawuf does not belong to a sect.

I think that people forget that Islam or people of the desert originated Judaism that branched off into Christianity. There are other religions that have falled by the way side that are just now being explored, because they are forgotten religions.
