I am american and consider British as our brothers in arms and in peace. They played major roles in both world wars. They had ended the war of Britian before our politicals descided to enter the war. I like my country and am proud of its successes and role in the wars. The British have a nice accent and real fighting men. They succeeded in ww1 to break down Germany before fresh troops came from the west.In ww2 they were mabe more engaged than my USA. Don'd diss the UK or US.

@youpeopleofmonkeys There's no need to start trollin. Anyone with any idea of history will know that the United Kingdom played a very active, and often very important role in WW2. British code breakers cracked the enigma machine.  They also played an important role in the African campaign sabotaging Italian aircraft and engaging in hit and run sting operations through the war via commandos. Sure, they didnt break the Luftwaffe like the Russians but we played our part.

@youpeopleofmonkeys I am Maltese and I know a whole lot more about the Italians than you do apparently. When Italian bombers would come to Malta some of them wouldn't even bother reaching the shores. Their aircraft were antiquated and training poor, so much so that they were afraid of the British 3.7inch and 40mm AA guns. They simply dropped the bomb load at sea and returned back to Sicily. I wouldn't call that kicking Britain's ass.

Yeah the Swastika is not allowed in Germany because of what it represented and all, but there are mods on subsim that you can get and improve the game by %100

Dont get me wrong, im NOT a nazi, i DONT support their ideas at all.

Its just that i feel like im playing a WW2 game without the real authentic feel of using the historical correct icons and flags.

Where the USA flag is shown in full glory, the Nazi-Germany flag is censored.

Because of this, a game wont feel like the 2nd world war, but just as another shooter/sim.

@PitbullNL They don't show the swastika because it is a forbidden image in Germany nowadays. Developers don't want to miss out on the gigantic German market. It's a lot easier to just take them out than to make two separate versions of the game.

@hellnet88 Isn't it funny, they always seem to forget russia, who yes, suffered the largest losses by far, but also killed about 7 out of 10 germans soldiers killed in combat. I guess with the cold war, and all the anti russian and communistic propaganda and sentiments in the west, it's still easy for people to see them as part of the axis (the enemy), rather than the frontline against nazi germany.

For example, the UK sheltered the Norwegian Royal family and their government, plus many commando raids co-operated with the Norwegian resistance to weaken the Nazi's hold on the country until it could be liberated. The ceremonial christmas tree offered to Britain every year shows their recognition of this fact.

@13Filmrisse Britain and France both had plans to invade Norway for several reasons. One you have already laid out. The other being an attempt to defend Finland from the Soviets. At that time, the Soviets were viewed to be a greater threat to peace than Hitler, and given that they were allied with the Nazis at the time, and that Finland was a democracy, it made sense. Unfortunately, due to lack of air cover (Britain only had 1 carrier in the North Sea), it was a lost cause.

Britain was over extended when it came to industrial production, so without american made planes there wasn't any australian airforce. Britain was fucked due to the german raids on their supply lines, but endured the battle of Britain where Britain stood alone, no help from the US. Facing Germany and their soviet allies. However, England is an island with limited resources, they needed raw materials, goods, and food, from the rest of the free world to stay in the fight. You're right that if the Germans had won, there wouldn't be any need for an invasion, but they fortunatly didn't. The USSR annexed half of Poland, killed all their intellectuals and supplied the Germans with raw materials from one or two weeks before the war started. They allowed the germans to have naval bases in Basis Nord. Where was I wrong?

how long was england fighting before USA joined? we had controll of the sea and air. and we smashed italy in the desert too. if italy had won england in the derert, rommel and his army would have dominated russian front, stallingrad would have fallen and where do you think italy would have gone? look at the map. alexandria, to istanbul, across the black sea, probably to rostov and probably to stallingrad or the oil fields. no more russia

@stewart113 they did use commandos to conduct raids there though, hitler feared the allies would land there so the sent 150,000 men there, which could have been positioned somewhere to help stop the invasion of france, or possibly to overun russia.

Britain was about conquer Norway and Sweden as Churchill wanted because of its harbors and especially mining resources but Germany made Operation Weserübung as a preventive act to secure trading with Sweden (Sweden was the primal producer of iron for Germany). There was no ideological trait to annex Norway - or Denmark - into the 3rd Reich but practical ones.
