If you ask me, I once thought that Double was Vile reincarnated. It would make sense to strike at X from close range, Vile being the assassin he is, I mean, WAS.

That's not very logical. Vile isn't the kind of guy that Double is. Vile likes carnage and destruction, but not as much as Double. Vile hates X. Double hates everything.

Maybe. But there's also the fact that while we only encountered Vile 3 times (X, X3, and X8), by the time we met Vile in X8, he was Mk V. That means that there were two missing builds before Vile was Mk V.

I'd put it as personal speculation, but I think that Double would've either been Vile Mk 3 or Mk 4. Or perhaps that Capcom wanted to include him as a new character to replace Vile, or something.

Having said that, Vile and Double excel in the art of hidden weapons, Vile more than Double.

When they called him "Vile V" they were meaning the V as in VILE, not the number 5. And all Double uses as a weapon is a blade. Vile's got cannons, blasters, grenades, ride armors...

Wondering what happened to my reply. Anyway, I said that Double also has his bats (or whatever you call them) and his spinning buzzsaws, so he doesn't entirely rely on his blade alone. Of course, he only seems to use these when attacked with Double Cyclone. I also said that Vile excels in hidden weapons more than Double does. Vile (or Vava as I sometimes call him) is quite a cool character, IMHO.

Since this name is never actually used in-game, I assume that "Jelloman" was just a made-up name they used to avoid spoiling the fact that Double is a villain.

Seeing as I beat the game as X first, I was all "WTF SERIOUS?!?!?" when I found out Double was double crossing everyone, afterwards when I played through as Zero, I sort of expected Iris to try to kill Zero.
