It's interesting, the older vocaloids may be harder to use, but when used correctly, they sound much more human than the newer ones. This video by Meiko is the perfect example. Just compare it to any well made video with Luka.

I think the reason so few people like MEIKO is because they attempt to make her sing to high-pitched (like Miku) and she ends up getting a squeaky, childish voice.

I like this MEIKO voice, though. She sounds grown-up and mature, which is how she's actually INTENDED to sound. I like. :)

Also: FL-chan is cute. That is all.

On a completely unrelated note, Megurine Luka has the exact same predicament as MEIKO - hardly anyone uses her voice correctly!

Miku is more popular because she is easier to use, and her voice appeals to a lot of people. MEIKO (the first one) is VOCALOID. not VOCALOID2 like Miku and others. She (and KAITO) was/were so left out when VOCALOID became famous (Miku most famous). So NanameueP with the help of artist daigoman made a "VOCALOID2 version" of her. Thus came Meiko Sakine (younger one)

This and that one are one of the very few Meiko songs I like. She's THE VERY FIRST Japanese Vocaloid, so I imagine it's hard to tune her voice properly, and even so, I don't really like the way it sounds, just not my kind of voice. But Poem Weaved in the Ruins... Wow!

Actually "Lolita" is the title of the book the style and kink/fetish is associated with. Lolita is the girl's name, and the association then leads to the "Lolita" fashion (which is like frilly Victorian or whatever era the book takes place in) and "Lolita complex/lolicon", which is then the sexual aspect. "Loli" is generally just a shortened version for any of this.

If the same person does modeling, the models might mutually look like. All of the models in this video(and Miku in the famous "Melody.exe") was made by Kio. So, all these models look like well.
