darn you.... you made me laugh so hard that i coughed. there was a kid that took 5 years to graduate. if there was any brain washing going on there then they did a terrible job at it. i spent one and a half months listening to those tapes. all i did while listening was building up my run plans which were rather violent. then if the seminar brain washed then they sucked cuz i went to the same one twice which takes two years. they help with emotions and controling them. i now never get angry.
@thedougman2008 you are still brainwashed - it takes ten years for post traumatic stress to show up. Sorry you , me , or anyone had to endure torture as a kid. stay postive amigo.
@NeverKnowsBests Let's not start a riot because it will end up placing a lot of survivors in jail and/or prison where they will be subjected to the same abusive behavior modification methods used in the programs we oppose like WWASPS. Let's keep doing what we do and getting media attention, filing lawsuits, and taking other legal steps to stop institutionalized abuse and close abusive programs. HEAL does not endorse illegal activity. But, we believe in freedom of speech. ; )

I was at Cross Creek from August 2005- April 2007. The rumors are true, we were criminalized for adolescence. It was the most psychologically damaging experience of my life...
Hi everyone, I’m doing an assignment for my media course and I have chosen to create a TV package about WWASP and its facilities. If you are interested in giving me an interview (by email, is fine), regardless of what your experience was, good or bad, I would love to speak with you. ***THIS IS AN ASSIGNMENT FOR SCHOOL. I AM NOT ACTUALLY PUBLISHING OR AIRING THIS! THE ONLY PERSON SEEING THIS WILL BE ME AND MY PROFESSOR. *** Reply to this comment if you are willing to speak with me.
She is spot on. when I was in a similar program, Abundant Life Academy in Kanab Utah, even mentioning leaving could get you extra months. I was held against my will for 8 months, and then ran away and hid until I was eighteen. you didn't DARE get your hopes up that someone was going to save yout. You were tested sometimes by people to see if you were brainwashed so to speak. You couldn't trust anyone. I can't say much more. (dont wanna be sued) but I still have nightmares. IT WAS HELL.
@traciMgreen So, once you escaped from ALA, how did you go underground to keep these wastes of space from finding you until you were 18? Did you hide in places like the woods or run from hotel to hotel. What was life like on the run??? I just can't believe these horrible places are even legal!
I was in Cross Creek for a year and a half. It definitely was a life-changing experience. Whether that is a positive or negative change is up for debate. I believe it was almost totally negative. My family feels otherwise, against my convincing. Since coming out of Cross Creek it has been close to impossible to adjust to society again because my thought patterns have been so radically changed. I still pat my pockets before I walk in the rest-room.
Okay I spent over 2 years at Cross Creek and was not able to communicate with another human being for over a month! AND THEY BRAINWASH PARENTS: 1)Scare tactics are imposed to make initial commitment 2)Seminars feed them seemingly correct OPPINIONS for hours upon hours, followed by the "release process," in which endorphines are secreted in vast amounts due to release of anxiety/stress.
Therefore the OPPINIONS are linked to unprescidented SHORT-TERM absolute happiness.
@thisisisisy omg... thank you... that made me laugh... i spent 28 monts there. they do not brain wash parents. you can trust me on that. my dad, i have always known him and i guarantee that if he didnt like doing something he would do the bare minimum if he did it at all. and he would not do focus. tho i always hated the release process becaue that towel is heavy. and the creation of the happy place thing is just a way for people that are sad or mad to go to so that they can calm down.
Cross Creek Is HELL on earth. HELL! it is a horrible place

I can only imagine you are correct and your family is incorrect. You and only you know what you went through.

This place was so terrible... those tapes were so shitty having to eat in silence. No human beings deserved to be treated the way we were.

@sadiepup420 Commically while there we were told that Prisoners have better treatment.

@sadiepup420 We couldnt even understand what the tapes were saying! All we could hear was an awful high pitched laugh!!! It was terrible!
