He strums when he has multiple notes of the same colour in a row, because otherwise he'd have to hit that fret multiple times, which is awkward.

This is from rockband 1. You have to buy RB1 and import that disc into the game for RB2. It takes like 4gb's of HD space.

Just go to gamestop, buy it used, then take it back. xD
