Wow was fun for a while, but it's about time someone nutted up and made a new MMO. I'm personally bored of wow these days. Tired of the constant grind. Can't wait for this game.

the Exile rebuilt the Jedi order so expect to see more of her in the game and Revan has a temple complex to be explored by low-mid level empire and high level republic players.
Ok - these guys seem really excited about this and I genuinely hope that this is a good game BUT where I disagree with them is this - I want a to play as Revan and The Exile, everything that happened in KOTOR 1 and KOTOR 2 set up for the adventures Revan and The Exile were going to have in the next game. Now they're abandoning that and we're skipping ahead by 300 years - which means we'll never get to play as Revan and The Exile again :-(
What if in the 1980s Writer/Director George Lucas had announced that Episode VI would be set 135 years after the destruction of the Death Star 1, and would follow the adventures of Cade Skywalker - everyone would've said what the fuck? Why are you doing that? No one cares.
So now when they skip ahead 300 years, over the unfinished story of Revan, I can't help but feel slightly confused and pissed off.
90% of what any devs talk about in this pre launch pre production videos are nothing more than hype, I guarantee that half of the freatures or all that story aspect being so original will be huge letdown when the game comes out, think about every single major MMO except eve are nothing more than cookie-cutter safe copy -paste crap only wraped in different wrapings...I would like that bioware proves me wrong but chances are slim from what I seen so far
@Cardan011 We all hope its going to be as good as intended. My biggest worry atm is that the game is going to be too single player orientated. Best thing to do is avoid being picked up by the hype and try to just wait until it is released. who agrees with me?
@Cardan011 Really, im sure im not the only person who believes this but for me, im just glad its fully voiced and its story. Not so much interested in the gameplay even if it looks bad. I was one of the few who liked alpha protocal for having an interesting story, even if it had the worst gameplay in the world., sorry about the random example.

They should make a proper single player KOTOR 3, With a decent combat system, like mass effect where you actually do the shooting and fighting yourself instead of telling your character to. Fuck paying a monthly subscription fee.

Most likely this game will be ruined by immature players. and of course every kid will want to play as the sith. giving the game an unbalanced playstyle. Look at what happened to WOW, the horde outnumber alliance 4 to 1 now.
Along with individual stories and the choice of an affiliation to light or dark, i'm also very exited for the size of this game. unlike wow, it seems like this game will be a very long lasting and fun game. i played wow and very much enjoyed it, but its run its course and it lost its zeal. this game has all the great stuff wow had, and much more, and i can guarentee i'll be at its midnight release hahaha

i was a HUGE fan of the KOTOR games, still playing them when i can, and i'm really exited for the MMO version of them. i'm really happy about how their making individual stories depending or your decisions, and i like that you can't save and redo it, it just ruins the experience in my opinion. Along with individual stories, i'm crazy exited that i can go empire and be good, or go republic and be bad, that to me is awesome. i'll continue i'm high on word count

Gameplay and story is always sacrificed when you take it online.

The combat is no different, the graphics look like a more technical WoW with less style, and it has a semi-decent story but has no twists and never gets exciting.

@SirSexyAlot Even if you had played it you never played the entire game so isn't possible to you to know if the story is better or worse then kotor, from what i've seen so far it looks much better. Combat is better for sure, kotor games combat sucked alot! This combat is much fasted passed then other mmos. @SirPwn4lot well, so far from what I have seen, I have mixed feelings. Hate the cartoonish look of it. But let's give it a chance. Bringing a deep story into an MMO seems great. I just hope they don't introduce what I hate about MMO's. I hope your stats won't do the fighting for you. Hopefully battles are fast and furious and not just HP soaking matches.. Weapons should feel powerful. And I hope dying has some significant impact.
@SirPwn4lot Well, that's truth just partially. You see in KOTOR 1 (and possibly 2 - yet created by Bioware) there was a great story, the moment you unfold the terrible truth you are lord Revan, Malak destroying Taris - a masterpiece indeed. But as a lot of MMOs proved - you can have a main story in a MMo, but you cannot really advance it, the story doesn't have a beggining or ending, you are thrown in in certain period (determined by expansion) and you can change your char's story only.
@Lotsoffun111 Right, you payed $50 in the US, or $100 in Australia to play about a hundred hours. If the price is the problem you have then don't play it. SWTOR will be different in that there will be a constant stream of new content coming in, and the large scale server maintainence. It will be easily worth it. If you don't like the (as of yet unspecified price) then DON"T PLAY IT.
In a month you can get up to 744 hours out of the game. Not bad for the price of a pizza.

The going rogue thing seems compelling to me.
Wonder what I would play, the redeemed villain (Revan).
Or the fallen hero (Vader).
Or a hero who falls, but then redeems himself (Both).
Or a hero who falls, but redeems himself, then falls anew for some dumb reason (Revan)

They should make a proper single player KOTOR 3, With a decent combat system, like mass effect where you actually do the shooting and fighting yourself instead of telling your character to. Fuck paying a monthly subscription fee.

İt's going to be A W E S O M E. i <3 bioware. Im am pretty sure this game will knock out WoW. Because it will have a fuckin great STORY!! one of the things WoW doesn't have. People won't play for winning .. It's gonna be like real life. No saving no loading yeaah! The thing that makes real life beatiful is the choices you make. it will be 1 vs all or 1 making a guild and make frends kill what you want.
you can make your chooses your not like wow horde must kill alliance, and

Along with individual stories and the choice of an affiliation to light or dark, i'm also very exited for the size of this game. unlike wow, it seems like this game will be a very long lasting and fun game. i played wow and very much enjoyed it, but its run its course and it lost its zeal. this game has all the great stuff wow had, and much more, and i can guarentee i'll be at its midnight release hahaha
As for what class i'm gona be - sith warrior - alignment? - we'll see when the time comes=D

man i'm really exited for this game
i was a HUGE fan of the KOTOR games, still playing them when i can, and i'm really exited for the MMO version of them. i'm really happy about how their making individual stories depending or your decisions, and i like that you can't save and redo it, it just ruins the experience in my opinion. Along with individual stories, i'm crazy exited that i can go empire and be good, or go republic and be bad, that to me is awesome. i'll continue i'm high on word count

People believe it will be exactly like KotOR only bigger, better and online. Wrong, it will be bigger and online, that is it. The story won't be as good, same for the gameplay.
Gameplay and story is always sacrificed when you take it online.
Expect this to be a bad version of KotOR only with online capabilities and you won't be disapointed.

I played the same stuff in WAR and AoC.
The combat is no different, the graphics look like a more technical WoW with less style, and it has a semi-decent story but has no twists and never gets exciting.
Come back in a year and tell me how right I am please

Combat is better for sure, kotor games combat sucked alot! This combat is much fasted passed then other mmos. And i dont believe you when you said you played the game, because i know people who did tryed the game and told me it's good!

@SirPwn4lot well, so far from what I have seen, I have mixed feelings. Hate the cartoonish look of it. But let's give it a chance. Bringing a deep story into an MMO seems great. I just hope they don't introduce what I hate about MMO's. I hope your stats won't do the fighting for you. Hopefully battles are fast and furious and not just HP soaking matches.. Weapons should feel powerful. And I hope dying has some significant impact.

You can put bounties on Players and that would be pointless if all that happened was getting a repair bill.
EVE: online has that for example, and when you get killed there you might lose your ship etc etc.

You see in KOTOR 1 (and possibly 2 - yet created by Bioware) there was a great story, the moment you unfold the terrible truth you are lord Revan, Malak destroying Taris - a masterpiece indeed. But as a lot of MMOs proved - you can have a main story in a MMo, but you cannot really advance it, the story doesn't have a beggining or ending, you are thrown in in certain period (determined by expansion) and you can change your char's story only.

@Lotsoffun111 Right, you payed $50 in the US, or $100 in Australia to play about a hundred hours. If the price is the problem you have then don't play it. SWTOR will be different in that there will be a constant stream of new content coming in, and the large scale server maintainence. It will be easily worth it. If you don't like the (as of yet unspecified price) then DON"T PLAY IT.
In a month you can get up to 744 hours out of the game. Not bad for the price of a pizza.
