I Love this video.. This video is what first got me started about worldoflogs-rankings and trying to hit maximum dps etc. I got a couple of 1-5 rankings in most fights in ICC10HC (and a few top 20 in 25HC) during the last couple of months in wotlk. (though I played an elem shaman at the time so I guess it was easier to get ranked since there were less of them than mages!)

@thescorpionfly 2 reasons, mana conservation as arcane slowly gets amazing better with gear, partially because of spirit stacking (molten armor)

and 2, because their DPS was great, he dropped really quickly.

I agree on the fact that Arcane (Lolcane to me) mages are a 3 buttons class,a few more if you have cooldowns instead of procs to pop tho, but like Drewb said, it doesnt matter if the class uses 1 button or 300 buttons, the goal is to deal as massive damage as possible. Personally i prefer Fire when i'm on my mage, to me its just as easy, almost as good but thirty times more fun, i mena honestly, who can resist smiling when Hot Streak procs and you shoot an instant pyro for 25-30k?

the role of dps is to do as much damage as you can as quickly as you can...and arcane mages deliver. its irrelevant how easy or hard it is as long as youre doing massive damage

plus when its easy to deliver massive damage it makes it easier to pay attention to other aspects of the fight

arcane mages own plain and simple. in the process of lvling my mage...i could count the total number of times i wasnt top dps on one hand. i own both aoe *and* boss fights

Which add-on are you using for the cast bars and showing how many times you cast Arcane Blast? I use Mage Nuggets and it's just a little boring square off to the side. I would like to have that Mage add-on that shows all the numbers on the side and the little circle in the middle, and also tell me when my Missile Barrage is ready.

Thts amazing, specced and an arcane mage and doing only arcane blast and arcane missles will get you 12.5k dps. You would have to be geared with frost gear of course but imagine triumph gear. My mage could be pulling 6k dps

@Galv96 SP/haste yes, but you need 2 dreadstones too, but gems don't make big difference really but your casting and gear makes, and this video was made when there wasn't 20% ICC buff although he got more buffs than you usually get.

Ok im arc mage ive got 5.2k gs 1p t10 and the rest t9/9.2 with a few pvp gear (cloak, wrist) i do 5k dps on average on lord marrogar i have correct spec and rotation wot am i doin wrong also i see i have 265hit rating but others have it way higher

@ShaunJ4Y1873 As a fellow Arcane mage (Armory Syrel of Greymane), to be raid capped you need (as arcane, 57/3/11) a total of I believe 288 hit. Your DPS will increase if all your spells can hit the target... think of it this way, if you stack up your arcane blast to 4, and it crits, you could do 17k with one hit. But if it misses, that 17k goes out the window. Also, PVP gear is not for PVE. You'll get way more out of PVE gear. I promise.

@foreverspellman You can also lose 17k dmg by having less haste, less crits, less SP or etc. The only reason why hit rating is better than other stats(until cap) is because it needs only 26 points for 1%, and crit for example needs 45 points for 1%.

Some pvp gear is actually good for pve if you're not getting ICC drops, haste pvp neck for example is equal to best totc25 necklace. Anyway more often than gear, people lose dps by not doing casting/rotation/moving optimally.

@AddictedOnlineGamer was that a serious comment lol? you do know in this gear he can be 2-3 shot, and he can't pull off stuff like this in this spec in arena because of CC, not to mention people have for example 25% damage reduction from resiliance (roughly 1.2k easily obtained nowdays) with a minor cooldown like barkskin or even anti-magic shield and just eat it right up, burst damage isn't pvp...

spamming AB till you get the barrage proc is best dps, although if your new to 80 i would reccomend AB 2-3 times then eather missles or barrage if it didnt proc

Arcane is a very nice DPS spec, however, id not reccomend it to anyone leveling up or any new 80's. Mainly beacause it is very gear oriented and eats up mana fast.
