'nothing" is really pretty absurd. he played joker as directed by tim burton and Jack Nicholson knocked it outta the park as he always does! it was two different takes on the joker character. I still love to watch nchlsn in that one HOWEVER!! lol ...Heath Ledger's Joker...is stunning, brilliant, insane and phenomenal...infinity. and sorry, folks, daniel's rite...it IS better!!.....
@spindlecrackey yeah 'nothing' was a bit of an exaggeration. i was just frustrated about those who deemed the critics as just being sympathetic about heath. nothing against old jack, but heath was directed to perfection by nolan to give a legendary performance.
@daniel171095 you bet...i couldn agree more. and its not sympathetic whatsoever, ya gotta give credit where credit's due, and if he were still alive it would be even MORE huge! they'd be talking sequel, or prequel actually, i guarantee it!
@spindlecrackey the point where he said 'we're destined to do this forever' made it seem like they were thinking of tying in the joker to the next batman films as his sort of ongoing nemesis, not necessarily as the main antagonist. oh well, it was brilliant for our kid to end his career on such a high note (including dr parnassus). he made us at perth proud.
only christianity predicts the rise of a one world religious leader, who will have white skin and red eyes; if anyone worships him, they'll burn in hell. also, if anyone takes the chip and green electronic skin tattoo with sixes (that will be given when one stretches their hand to receive a new small grey world passport), they'll burn in hell too. also, it's important to note that if anyone will go into a ufo ship to be healed, they're in trouble. why?'cause ufo aliens are demons.research this
for every scene i try to impersonate the them, and the only one i cant seem to do well is da joker... that sucks right coz hes my fav character and i practiced specially hard. OH WELL, GOOD JOB HEATH LEDGER RIP
@handsomedevil98 in the comic he always told a different story. Its just part of the joker. From what I understand, he doesnt truly remember why he is the way he is. But its supposed to be from the vat that he got knocked into. The scars is a new thing...Do some research and see what you think :)
@Pandafye The stories he tells about the scars may all be in someway true but he changed the story differently like with gamble he said his father did it or with Rachael he did it to himself because his wife gambled and owed money but couldn't pay the mob dealers back so they carved her face. But what I think is his father was very abusive like he said and that he was a gambler and owed mob bosses money so he got his own face carved up not his wife and because of his scars his wife left him.
@bushater2000 try opening your mouth as wide as it can and stick something in it that's just large enough to fit all the way in you can't open your mouth more to take it out without breaking your jaw
Seems like a dumb question- but why didn't the guy at the beginning simply use his hands to remove the grenade from his mouth? I don't see restraints...
3:25 is a joke I caught but many others didnt. The guys that hand the lady the letter tell her "Mam, we dont even know what's in there. just open it and itll tell you where youre going."
And she opens it, and it says "up". Lol, bascially meaning she's dying and ascending upwards from Earth. I couldn't believe how the Joker would know the men's wording (or if the men were working for the Joker)
i know this has nothing to do with the film but. that banker had a point. crimanls real crimanals back in the 70's 80's had a sort of code of conduct. they wouldnt go stabbing each other in the back just 4 money. crimanals were like family then but now now its like cats working with mice. as soon as one person turns there back they're dead. no honour at all
I was too young to see this film when it came out but after seeing it i can see that Ledger's acting is phenomenal, such a talent. he is greatly missed R.I.P
i dont really like how they depicted bruce in this movie. in the movie, he seems like he just wants to stop being batman after only one year and is ready to just end it - but in the comics, bruce would never ever be finished with being batman, even if it killed him in the process.
It's the little things the Joker does that I admire. Like when he was at Wayne's Fund Raising Party and took the drink with Champagne, threw the Champagne out of the glass, then took a sip. Classic insane comedy.
Anyone else notice how the big scary mobster dude just sits there and takes the Joker putting a knife INSIDE of his mouth, while the little pretty lady punches him in the... was that the gut or the groin?
Am I the only one who only sees the Joker/Heath scenes when I randomly want to rewatch this movie? Really,I find all the other scenes sooooo boring in comparison
@gambit2479 No, heath ledger didnt die on a coke overdose, he overdosed on sleeping pills, search Heath ledges last interview, you'll see him struggling abit, he didnt sleep for weeks, and took to many sleeping pills and died.
The Joker's past, according to himself, is multiple choice. He remembers it differently every time. Part of his anguish stems from not knowing for sure what really happened to his face.
Check out: Batman: The Killing Joke. It's a great origin story of the joker and is what the multiple tales of his origin is based on in this movie. The movies did a great job drawing from what are considered some of the best of the comics. Year One, Dark Knight etc. very fun stuff.
It's great acting when you can't see the actor at all. Heath Ledger is invisible in this role. He became the joker.
