@thebluecouch: -red to the guitars and drums at times. Then again this is a *rough* recording and nerves may have played apart in it. I think the strength of the violin bow strokes could be more fluid and vocals: may want to work on breathing technique (cause you sound like you're running out of breath sometimes hence the unintended crescendos and diminuendos?) Overall great job guy(s) and girl(s). Keep up the work and i guess listen to your recordings to see what improvements can be made :)

Very good for a new band!

However, I would recommend that you try to balance out how loud each of the instruments are. There were times when I couldn't make out the lyrics due to the other instruments.

Also, try to give a wider arrangement of notes for the singer. The notes that she was singing were a bit repetitive.

Finally, try to tune more.

Otherwise, fantastic! I can totally groove to this kind of music.

You asked me to comment so I will - probably going to take it the wrong way so DON'T be discouraged by what I say, keep trying, keep improving. VOCALS: Almost monotonic, weak and somewhat off key at points. Consider some vocal coaching/lessons to address this and put your heart into it next time. If it doesn't help, get someone else on vocals. Violin - needs work, weak and wandering. Guitar, was OK but sounds too much like Radiohead - develop your own sound. Not bad for early 1st effort.

Give the instruments a sharper sound and a stronger place in the mix.

The violin should be tracked twice, one track panned left and the other panned right (not too far though), as well as being louder.

And the volume for the guitar that cuts in at about 3 minutes should be a little lower.

And try pushing your voice a little more, develop and use more of a range. And put in more energy.

The song and music comes off as dull to me. Definitely needs a stronger instrumental influence. Singing is dull too. Although she has a good (not great) voice, it's nothing special. Not exactly my kind of music, but I oddly did enjoy it. The Guitar blends well with the Violin, the drummer keeps a good rythm and doesn't trip up as far as I can tell. Your singing voice is very closer to my GF whom I always enjoy singing to me. I really hope that your band takes off the ground! The ensemble is very good, put together well nice riffs smart drummer, the vocals are developed. It cracks and is off pitch too much. theres nothing wrong with indie vocals but when its off key and more flat then in ought to be you might wanna consider lessons or go in a different direction with singer. But the voice is good it just needs to be polished and more professional :)
