  • Correct me if im wrong, but is someone in this band from kansas city?

  • @333tommy12 -- They all were from around the K.C. area. Its where they got their start. Bob was originally from Norborne, Mo. a small town about 45 (?) miles east of KC. Not sure exactly where Steve & Rich were from, but yeah for all practical purposes they considered themselves as being from KC.

  • OMG, I've been looking for this song forever! Thanks for posting--brings back great memories!

  • I remember seeing these guys play in Lawrence ... one of the most rockin' parties I'd ever been to.

  • The Rainmakers are playing a reunion show in May at Knuckleheads in Kansas City for those of you interested.

  • This is the greatest!

  • This must be in mono sound rather than stereo, as mine too only plays in the left speaker!

Many thanks for the clip though!

  • love it, love it, love it....

  • people (here) in the midwest are missing something or people on the east/west coast are extra f-ed up? :) lol, lol, lol. lolz. lol. lol.

  • GREAT K C BAND !!!

  • Bob is still active in the music scene in Kansas City.. the record bar ... every wednesday..

  • Bob wrote the best lyrics

  • This brings back some memories! Played this LP to death in college!

  • great song but this clip only plays in the left speaker...

  • LOL...I thought my speakers had buggered up.

  • Oh yeah. lol

  • @arita2006 mine too, only the left speaker...

  • I know that the horn section was "The Memphis Horns" but is that really Dizzy Gillespie or a look a like?

  • Dizzy was 70 when this movie was released, plus he always used that bent trumpet, def not Dizzy

  • the bent trumpet is in the video. the memphis horns had worked with dizzy before. would he be in the video?

  • I listened to these guys for 10 years or so and saw them every time they played in Springfield, MO, and what a show they gave! Boy, do I miss this kind of midwest rock and roll!

  • i seen these guys when I lived in KC, I live in Springfield now

  • I´ve never heard this song before and regret missing it for so long. To think I grew up in the 80's and didn't know about it...

  • They didn't know about you either so I wouldn't worry about it too much.

  • Takes me back to being 17, cool song!

  • takes me back to not being born, cool song! :P

  • great music..but there is something missing about the people in KC/midwest..i cant put my finger on it but its a lack of wildness or something..like they cant really express themselves..shruggs..but yea good tune always has been..

  • No wildness? Can't express themselves? Not from the midwest, I take it. We do tend to have more manners than some, but please don't generalize about the people in KC/midwest!

  • Smiles...heyyy jeanie..i am here in KC..the night i posted that i was a bit buzzed..not even sure what i was referring to..made sense at the time tho lol..cheers

  • I love this song. This song gives me a lot of memories.. Thanks to The Rainmakers (and Aerosmith) I started to listen to Rock music.

  • Thanks for this,, great memories.. it was music like this that got me to leave popular music and start playing good stuff..

  • I have been searching for Rainmakers videos here for months. Often I would type in "Rainmakers" and get merely one hit. Now there's a whole slew of videos loaded and I'm not gonna get any sleep tonight. (It is after 1 a.m. and I'm cranking the volume up and dancing to one of my favourite bands ever!)
