  • @BonIverSUCKS Such a shame that you would waste a username for something that is purely dedicated to hating an artist.

  • @BonIverSUCKS here's a thought, if you don't enjoy his (amazing) music, then don't listen to him.. and don't waste everybody's time commenting on his videos.

  • Favorite band, favorite person (Justin Vernon), favorite song. I don't think I could ever thank him enough for showing some of us what REAL music is. I legitimately feel honoured that I came across him. His music has come with me through a lot. Maybe it's a good thing that he isn't so well-known, that way he never runs the risk of being tainted by pitiful mainstream noise that people refer to as "music".

  • Bon iver is the only band who knows my crying

  • We need the music that gets people famous dispite their lack of talent, because if that didn't keep the simple and slow ppl occupied they'd actually have to use their brains and appreciate amazing music like this. And thats too much like hard work for them, i'm glad very few people get to listen to the simply stunning music that i get to enjoy on a daily basis. its what makes it unique

  • chills

  • thats where i live !

  • amazing.

  • 2:44 goosebumps

  • @yexley52 exactly my reaction!

  • everyone who thinks theyre cool for liking bon iver: shut the fuck up and enjoy the music

  • Bon Iver is immortal.

    fuck mainstream.

this is what we need more of. <3

    this is beautiful.

  • Favorite song by Bon Iver

  • he creates worlds with his music.

  • @YourMomHasFailedYou you ever read Heidegger?

  • @koolami268 don't think so.

  • true that man. so i guess that means that i'm a fucking amazing musician because no one knows who i am? lol.

  • justin vernon is a god.

  • Wisconsin, represent.

  • its because the people who are talented are too modest to promote themselves properly. whereas the listeners who buy the 'beats' shit, don't understand music like this, because they're simple and stupid. so it's everyones fault really, but everyones too fucking stupid to realise,

  • i dont know why, but i know i´m sorry that this song was taken off spotify. It was amongst the first music my kid heard.

Along with a lot of dylan.

    Very emotional.

  • @nicknamecharlston Why don't you pay for it?

  • i'm so happy i'm from wisconsin

    :D

  • @aiikedo

  • This easily my favorite Bon Iver song. Yet so simple, but still it deliver so much emotions. Justin Vernons voice is amazing.

I saw them live last year at Way Out West festival in Gothenburg, Sweden. They are even better live than on record. A memory for life I tell you.

  • @Musicnonstop0 i know what you mean. i saw him at music now. the last song he did was skinny love. he didnt plug in his guitar or have a mic. i was just thinking "this is what greatnes is" when he was playing

  • This compilation is EPIC - so many incredible bands, so many incredible songs!!!

  • This is just a perfect song . . . . I can't get tired of it . . . I listen over and over and over again . . . I can't imagine this song being put together any other way than this . . . Touches chords in my soul I had forgotten were ever there . . . brilliant . . .

  • definitely my favorite bon iver song.

  • soooooooooooo goooooooooooooooooooood!

  • such an amazing song..i love it

  • Justin Vernon FTW. This music is epic, touches your very core.

  • i like this

  • Now this is good music. It's funny how the real talented artists like Bon Iver are less known and the ones who just put together a couple of beats are huge and famous.

Maybe one day I'll understand how bullshit works.

  • @TrulyAppleStudios stupid people is the reason.

  • @TrulyAppleStudios It's funny how people have such narrow definitions of talent and only consider things they enjoy to contain said "talent."

Maybe one day I'll understand how bullshit works.

  • @TrulyAppleStudios fuck em. most important thing is we know bon iver, we love bon iver and they dont know what their missin

  • Comment removed

  • @TrulyAppleStudios Remember the 60's and 70's when it was the opposite? when led zeppelin or bob dylan where the biggest thing in the world AND the best? How many decades or world cycles do we have to wait for to get back to that way of thinking?

  • @Genedancingmachine Well, to be honest I wasn't even alive in the rising of Led Zeppelin or Bob Dylan, but I'll tell you this. It's a rather simple statement: Radio murdered talent. We need a savior, we need a musician who is willing to first get into mainstream, then keep his or her morals and convey a message to all the mainstream viewers that Taylor Swift and Flo Rida aren't the only god damn things out there.

  • @TrulyAppleStudios Thank You, I really understand how you feel completly, every time i turn on the radio im like what is this shit there is no meaning. Bon Iver should be more popular, it makes me sad what "music" is now a days.

  • @TrulyAppleStudios agreed, but funny because justin vernon (bon iver) is singing in kanye wests new songs :p

  • @TrulyAppleStudios it takes real passionate people who love this music to get it outther

  • @TrulyAppleStudios im just happy theirs gems like these pricless pieces of art... to each his own path

(but hurry the fk up :P)

  • @TrulyAppleStudios all about loser marketing my friend thus we are drowned by crap hip hop

  • @becca151615 hip hop is not the problem, POP is the problem. There are amazing rap/hiphop artists but I'm not talking about lil wayne and the other fags. But I get your point. Basically any Indie or underground artist will always make good music. The music industry, nowadays, prioritizes money over content. That's the way I look at it.

  • @bboytrigger123 truth

  • @TrulyAppleStudios

And maybe one day I'll understand the mentality behind idiots like you that leave comments that disparage others tastes in music just so that you can get off on thumbs-up.

And, for an artist with only one album out, Bon Iver is very well known actually.

  • @MrKingsandCastles All I can say is, your super late to comment on this and have the time to start a hate message. This video is clearly about Bon Iver, and I left a good comment on this video to emphasize his talent as well as putting my own thoughts on mainstream music. Freedom of speech, and I'm sorry to have disturbed you with a single comment that I didn't know would recieve 232 thumbs up later, nor do I care about getting thumbs up. Do yourself a favor, and stop wasting your own time.

  • @TrulyAppleStudios with his (Bon Iver's) new album, I'm sure that'll change

  • @TrulyAppleStudios couldn't have said it better

  • @TrulyAppleStudios It's called "the music industry" for a reason, it's all about marketing, business, and radio play time. What you hear on the radio isn't there for it's musical value, it's there because some guy paid a bunch of money for it to be there. Either Bon Iver doesn't have a bunch of money or doesn't crave the spotlight as much as others, that's why he's less well known.

  • It's spelled "dumbest" you stupid fuck.

  • if you dig bon iver and especially 'woods', check out the volcano choir album. they have a song on there called 'still.' its got the vocal track from 'woods' with epic instrumentals at the end.

everything justin vernon touches turns to gold.

  • i've been listening to volcano choir all winter. honestly, it is nothing short of beautiful

  • @dtotheuncan husks and shells <3

  • @dtotheuncan So true, have you heard the old Justin Vernon albums? Self Record & Hazeltons? Its absolutely amazing!

  • love it love it LOOOOOOOVE IT!

  • god DAMN J.V. can write a song

  • hmm...sounds like fleet foxes, which have been playing nonstop in my cd player for a month now.

is "for emma, forever ago" any good? i like what i've heard on this song.

  • I've just created a youtube account to tell you YES! BUY IT! I think it's my favourite album ever. If you like this, and Fleet Foxes, you can't go wrong.

  • ok thanks!. i love the soft-spoken harmonies here.

  • i just put it on hold at the library. i don't want to spend that much on an album i haven't heard yet, and it's still kinda pricy on amazon. i'll let you know what i think about "for emma, forever ago" when i get it.

  • it's really good. especially if you like fleet foxes.

  • i like their song oliver james.

  • Sir, I believe that is by Fleet Foxes. Whom I am obsessed with.

    :O

    It's fine. Great song. :)

  • randomwebsurfer:

Fleet Foxes was my introduction to indie folk music. I LOVE them! I was kinda bummed when I saw the track listing on Dark Was the Night and realized they weren't invited. Oh well.

Do you know anything about a second LP? (I haven't heard anything - I'm just desperate for news of new material from FF.)

  • It's pretty darn good. Not really any bad songs. Still, it's far less than I expected from the iTunes previews. I'd suggest "Woods" from Blood Bank, and "Flume," "Skinny Love," and "Re: Stacks" from For Emma. Those are all solid and quite beautiful.

  • yeah, i just looked up blood bank ep, and i really like "woods". i bought for emma - this guy is amazing. i really like his "big red machine" from "dark was the night" as well, though he's not listed as bon iver

  • I prefer Beach Baby over Woods.

  • I want to find Justin Vernon and buy him a beer.

  • If I could only write one song in my life, this is what I would want it to be like

  • check out bon ivers live performances on blogotheque... wow

  • so pure and honest :-) I can watch them over and over again.

  • Check out the new Grand Salvo album if you like this...it is cool and no-one seems to know about him.

  • this is niiiiiiccccceee.... :)

  • check out blindsided..shits dope

  • this is the future, well sayed.

    Top tier

  • this has got to be the most moving song i've ever heard, i mean im a man and all but i am moved to tears ever time i hear it. just a great song.

  • have you listened to the rest of thier stuff lol all of its just as moving if not more, Justin Vernon is god

  • I love this so much...

  • sorry for the blatant self promotion but I've made a video for this song. check it out it has ladybirds (ladybugs) in it.

  • this is my fave of the album. Just started listening to Bon Iver, I hate comparing, but im sure im gna start comparing him to future falsetto folk artists. His great.

"and every summer is hot token to the cold, cold take of lust, and every autumn singes, with the business of sadness"..
