I heard this song ONCE when I was 15 on Dutch radio. One of the stations (VPRO) was very progressive in bringing hiphop to a wider audience. I remember the DJ saying the guitar riffs by Dave Stewart were played backwards on this track. The name of the song plus the name of the artist stayed with me for 24 years, that's how much I loved the song. It's STILL awesome! And I FINALLY found it!!! Thanks for posting this.
remember me the first time i heard this on radio 7 in paris in 86!!! orgasmic!! and after 25 years i found it again here!! thanx really to post it!!! from paris soul city!! clément the dreamer
this is a great song meaningful, plus with a real beat i like it, always have, i was a reenager when this song came out, just left school, that takes me back lol
Seriously defining tune IMO & will certainly stand the test of time. I hope I can make something as inspirational as this in my scene. Proper feel good tune :D
i had the chance to meet starski back in the early 90s at clubb hollywood in Raleigh NC.Dude was mad cool!! he invited me in the booth.Dude rock the party!! he even gave me a copy of the cassette that nite..still got it to this day!..fressshhh!
Man that ethereal string and guitar sample in the back just makes me go gooey all over...luved this period going into house ambient hip hop all mixed up in this huge creative pool of sound ...I guess really down to the fact that no titles/pigeon holes existed yet..the music just was! WICKED EPIC AND FREAKIN BEAUTIFUL MAN LIKE A DAWN AT AN AFTERS PARTY!
and we as nykers will keep it that way im just as yung asthese kids grown ass kids walking round here today much smarter and tougher feel me fam love ya boy lets live
Thats cool, actually the intro, at least the first 50 sec of the vid, I didn't edit. Search for "Big fun in the Big Town" I used footage from that documentary. Credit goes to them.
This beat is so rich that I hear new things every time I listen.
It's like pure hip hop and new age space electronic shit all mixed into one. This track must be from the future.
Still sounds way ahead of its time in 2012.
And props for awesome footage to go along with the sounds.

Hey ... beautiful vid here for a record I produced back in the day. You choice of visuals for the intro is perfect.
I emailed it to T bone who co wrote it and raps here with Starsky. I know he's gonna love it.
