Wow! In an article about modular systems in general, the author wrote something like "The patch is the composition!". Fits well here! What about more low pass filtering, the deeper the sound -> the more droning it should get.
Thanks! This patch is long gone now :) That's anothing thing about modulars... there typically is no looking back. Now that you mention it, some low pass modulation may have really been nice as well. I went the other way with further ring modding. This recording was the best of the bunch though.

Just buy a dual VCO, a VCA, a VCF, an LFO, an ADSR, maybe a ring mod, a mixer and you're done (and a MIDI module as well)

That would be a great way to start! I recommend the Cwejman VCO-2RM, VCA-4MX, and ADSR. Good luck, but be careful it is addictive :)
