I always adore Ostad Zargari's playing. His fingers beat out notes like rain hitting hard against a window. His rhythm is so tight, syncopated and off-beat; a genuine innovator, but with the modesty never to play merely to show off his technical ability.

'Dastgah' in Persian music is what can be regarded as equivalent to 'raga'. Although there are many differences.

This performance is in a dastgah called 'Nava'.

Each dastgah is further divided into 'goosheh's. This performance is based on the goosheh called 'kereshmeh' which is basically a rhythmic pattern.

Yes this sound is music and Setar is natual musical instrument, not electronic, which is usually has been used as an iranian discrete musical instrument, Master Hossein Alizadeh, which play Setar here, is one of the greatest musician in nowadays iran, and sometime people call him as the Beethoven of east

I agree with sahandassadzadeh, Ostaud Alizadeh is one of greatest setar and tar players in Iran. I plays setar myself and I like his techniques. Zoulfonoun and Lofti are great ostauds.
