  • @56hueycobra - Yes, its a D model w/ E nose job. Thanks for the kind comment.

  • Thanks for taking the time to explain.

  • What damage would a 'hot start' actually do?

So, there is a couple of types of 'starts' here. A cold start, which is the first run of the day (but you still have to avoid a hot start), and then there is a warm start, when the engine is already warm from already being run. And then there is the 'Hot Start' which is introducing fuel when the ToT is too hot.

    Is that right?

  • @ianrkav Hi, thanks for watching. I am just the vidio guy.

From "Yahoo Answers" - best answer voted by viewers:

Hot starts will frequently require the engine to be removed from service and a complete tear-down and internal inspection of the engine will be performed to determine if there was damage, and if it can be repaired.

(This was the bottom line- full answer was too long)

  • @BabbittdaWabbitt So, a 'hot start' is basically a bad thing which will cook your engine if you're not careful, and should be avoided!

    Ok thanks for that:-)

  • What damage would a 'hot start' actually do?

  • You are so right to add the disclaimer, because even those of us who operate aircraft engines frequently are, well trained...qualified.....current....and we follow the checklist every time. Strictly by the book....every time without fail. Your friend and neighbor sounds well trained. You can tell he runs a high quality operation when he operates his helo. It's a beautiful machine.

  • Excellent video! Thanks for taking the time to put it together, and for the detailed description.

  • Thar's just what I want to hear....

Since I have not started a turbine before..these are the basic fact's that I like to hear.

I've heard them before..many times..but when you say it..I understand it better..

    Thanks Again..

    Your friend in So Ca..

    Lee
