Canadian forces use the C7 rifle, A variation of the M16. It was the Afghan soldier you were looking at with the ak.

Actually its not a "variation" of the M16 rifle. C-7 and M-16 are just The Military designation name for that rifle, they are both Variants of the Colt AR-15 Rifle, and are VERY close to the same, pretty much the exact same minus a few different Interchangable features.
