wicked piece Pebber man..Love the stpry u tell with the piece u play..like how u play with pic and fingers 2gther..big respect my friend..crackin' vids as always man!
Pebber, I enjoy your videos a lot. thank you.The story back in the day was that Stevie gave the tune to Beck first, but then didn't like what Beck did, so he rushed his own version out, and the rest is of course, history. At least people know who you mean when you say Beck, for a long time they thought you meant that kid!
@plectroman I dont know where you got this story. Someone made all that up for sure. Stevie's version was already a radio hit for months before Beck did his version. Get your facts straight please.
@pebberbrown That story came from Jeff Beck himself, I think, from a Rolling Stone or Guitar Player interview. A lot of times these guys tell one story one time and another story another. No big deal, I don't have an emotional investment in being right all the time. Peace.
@plectroman I'd actually like for you to research it some more so we all know WTF the actual real truth is - I've read Wikipedia but that shit is only half reliable and especially unreliable when it comes to bios and info on popular entertainers and musicians. Its really only good for science and history - those facts seem to be stable. People can keep changing wikipedia as they like anyway its not regulated. There is also a lot of made up crap on Wiki as well. But look into this one for me.
@pebberbrown Pebber...I found a reference to the situation in Pro Sound News. Curtis Berry's "Behind the magic:The Recording of Stevie Wonder's Superstition. It's easy to find if you want to google it.
@plectroman I could probably find a hard copy of the original interview, i never throw out old music mags, however that would mean going in the basement, and my girlfriend did that a couple of years ago, and i haven't seen her since.
@pebberbrown OK, I just refreshed my memory on this story....Stevie offered the tune to Beck for BB&A to record and when Stevie's manager heard about it he squashed the idea. Just a colorful story, and now that I remember that a manager was involved, it has the ring of truth. Happy New Year.
@plectroman From what i understand....Stevie DID give the song to Beck. However....someone in Stevies band or management heard Stevie playing the song and INSISTED that Stevie release it as a single....after he promised it to Beck. He never said he didn't like Becks version....in fact...i don't think he had even heard it yet. Jeff DID get a bit irritated that Stevie released it after he said he could have it.
@atomic3939 Heres what WIKI says:Jeff Beck created the original drum beat while in the studio with Wonder. After writing the song Wonder offered it to Beck to record, but at the insistence of Berry Gordy Wonder himself recorded it first.[4] Beck was instead offered "Cause We've Ended As Lovers," which he recorded on Blow by Blow in 1975. Jeff Beck played guitar on Talking Book and later recorded his own version of "Superstition" as a part of Beck, Bogert & Appice.
@pebberbrown I find it amusing that WIKI has published this as JEFF doesnt even play drums so he DID NOT create the drum beat for the song! What a comical farce!
So many interviews with different freaks - all saying different shit. Now where is the actual interview with BECK with words out of HIS MOUTH??? EH???
Hey, I've always been a huge Jeff Beck fan. Really enjoyed your video here. That Scatterbrain stuff is nuts. I'll have to work on those "over" chords on my '58 Strat. thanks for sharing the techniques etc.
I don't givea shit WHAT anyone says. That tone is beast for a webcam mic dude. Congrats. All this talking you do helps to. More like an actual lesson with a teacher. Good vid man!
You know - you NEVER have anything but complaints. These early videos were recorded with only a webcam mic. I am sick of your fucking asshole comments dude so you are now kicked off and banned for good. So fuck you.
My dad got Jeff Beck's guitar strings during of Jeff's concerts. Jeff ripped the strings off his guitar and gave them to my dad. Then my dad said "No gimme your guitar!" and Jeff just laughed. I wish I could have seen him play back then.
lol "yeah you bunch of wankers" nice one pebber its rare to hear that british term come from an american. For anyone who doesnt know what it means i think the guy giving pebber shit for his free lessons and free time teaching.... is the biggest one on youtube . i hope you keep posting pebber as im getting rid of bad habbits ive had for a while by learning the right way.
To all my friends: Yes! I finally reached my tolerance limit for this antagonist. I got tired of logging in and seeing yet another completely rude insult day after day. No more! Thanks to everyone for supporting me as you all did and let it be known that I did learn a valuable lesson:
1- I will no longer commit any valuable time and energy in responding to insults, and also 2- If anyone posts derogatory comments or insults on my account, that user will just get blocked and removed permanently.
My vote is to give bada bam-bam 24 hours for his meds to either wear off or take effect; if he's still spraying after that, block'im. Pebbs, what you're doing for beginners out of kindness is the high road; don't let this guy get you down. Bada bam-bam: What or whoever the real source of your ire is, that's where you should focus your energies; you'll feel better, and maybe you can work things out with who or whatever it is that's crawled up under your saddle--it sure ain't Pebber.
OK everybody, let's all just relax. There are plenty of issues in the world requiring scrutiny, criticism and action of the citizenry, be it articulate or no, English or no, without our taking issue over a free youtube video. For a guy with skills as honed as Pebber's to go to the trouble of making free videos for beginners bespeaks his innate kindness. Don't give him grief for his efforts, or he may quit. Criticize me if you want; as an industry professional, I charge for my knowledge.
