I always see people from my window walking their dogs in there too. I hope the cemetery isn't being defecated on either. Being desecrated the way it has been with the stones is bad enough.
Very interesting video, I have seen other such videos and it seems bored teenagers are ususally, not always the culprits. Is that town very big and what is it like to live in? CCTV attached to a building would give a great field of vision and cost less than $200 to install, less than a lawyer charges for an hours work.
@planetrockford Thanks. It is a small city that used to be nice but not so much now. It's suffered an economic down turn over the years that it hasn't really gotten out of and the neighborhood where this cemetery is located is a little rough. I agree with you on the CCTV. They could attach a set up right on the church.
In all seriousness I would give the vandal(s) 7 days to find the money to repair the headstones plus a $1000 fine or take every item they own including their clothing and sell it putting the proceeds towards restoration. Then health permitting I would flog the idiot publically around the town for 53 minutes.
@HimitsuRisu Once for every headstone seems fair, without a set limit it would be easy to flog them to death and capital punishment is a touch on the harsh side.
I hate seeing such a thing. Hopefully some local citizens will fix the stones; I would if I lived near there. If vandalism such as this had happened in times past, we wouldn't have any historic cemeteries.

I was here on Sunday (12/4/11). Many of the stones are still downed/damaged. It's a real shame too.
