  • @smithsherman Don't you realize that Cortot is Anti-expressive? That is why his expression is so good. If he relished every sound from the piano (Ahem, Lang Lang Ahem), then he would sound like everyone else. No, this kind of beauty can only be created by the lack of beauty. Anti-expression is the key to the greatest expression.

  • Chopin French? Try Polish through and through, heart soul and harmonies.

  • No me gustó... Me gustan más las versiones tradicionales.

  • Tears down my eyes

  • thanks for posting this.

  • Cortot was French, not Swiss!!!!!

  • @millriv Franco-Swiss

  • @millriv Cortot was born in switzerland and died in switzerland but lived the most of his life in Paris. He did teach in Paris and gave concerts all over the world.

  • @StrmUndDrng

Cortot was Franco-Swiss, as already explained earlier on...

Did you know Chopin was also... French? :-o

Some people (especially in the Anglo-US-Saxon world) seem to be unaware of that fact... or just have a hard time swallowing it!
