  • Vauxhall Nova 2.0 16v & Elise, Porsche, BMW

    NOT

Vauxhall Nova 2.0 16v vs Elise, Porsche, BMW

Amature trackdays are not COMPETITIVE events.

  • quality driving, shows how quik u are when theres no one in the way

  • Awesome vid mate, went round cadwell the other day (first time on a track) in my mates Clio, hoping to go round in my rx8 soon but won't be able to get round anywhere near as fast as that red top!

  • this is the day my Darling Daughter was born to me!!... I would so love to drive on a track like this, great footage!!

  • in a straight line? under no traction load - i would doubt it very much

a CV could have popped easily if I had any lock on mind

  • at 7.23 you could break a driveshaft

  • absolute quality (Y)

  • Got to love the old - 90s Redtop motor. And 20year later they are still a wanting engine for conversions, just proves how good these motors are. Specially the c20let turbo version :D

    Class vid. 5*

  • Excellent vid. Perfect Driving. Very Quick Nova,A++++

  • good driver and excellent vid. nice to see a redtop put to propper use m8 good work

  • @needajoint, it was broken for parts and sold as bits in December 08, so this was one of it's last outings, after here we did Donington again a couple of times

  • Its been 15 years since I last owned a red top Nova...this brings back happy memories! Most impressive how yours handles!

  • Lol i bet the elise could believe his eyes, LUV XE NOVA'S

  • lol the clue is in the title mate :-) 26-Oct-2008

  • wot time of year was it?

  • Thanks for the comments chap - such a shame the car no longer exists! Can't believe this was a year ago, almost to the day! This was my first time at Cadwell, as you can tell by my other videos, but by far my favourite circuit!

  • @trackdaynova how come it no longer exists? crashed? broke for parts? sold? it was a beast............

  • Can't wait to get back to Cadwell...love that place. Brilliant driving especially with the track being wet

  • very clean driving

  • sham thoose people got in your way really, some driving talent you got there! got a 16v nova myself, but nothing that serious\!

  • Awesome track...

  • Great Footage - seems you were the fastest out there. Cadwell certainly seems to live up to its reputation as the Mini-Nurburgring.

  • lol @ that 3 serious spoiler.

nice car and driving to go with it

  • thats a little beast good driving 2 m8

  • Yes bud thats the car, round front wings from a saloon, so I could lower the car more without clearence problems :-)

The car has been broken for parts now!

  • how come you broke it mate it was a track weapon!!! lol you going to make another one??? iv seen you on png btw thats how i new about the wings lol

  • cool vids mate your car is awesome am i right in thinging you have 5 door/ saloon front arches on it??

  • Was on Toyo 888 semi slick tyres, going over the mountain the car goes very light, thus the wheel spin yet I kept my foot in! haha

You can see how damp and how much standing water is around 7m 13s... was a very damp track!

  • The car had a Quaife straight cut gearset, with a ZF plate 90% LSD... you'd never get turn in and grip like 9m 43s without one!

  • That is surprising, especially consideringat the chikane at 7:15 where you have massive wheel spin over the jump. The cornering speed, and your understeer issues must be the damp track then (or poor tires maybe)?

I see your point at 9:43 - that went well :-)

  • I bet you want an LSD for your birthday :-)

What are people doing driving so slow? you seem to be the only one that is aware that it´s a track day.

  • It was running 280mm x 24mm Wilwood disks with Wilwood Dynalite II 4-pot calipers and Ferrodo DS2500 pads :) Standard rear drums

  • good driving. what brakes are u using??

  • this Nova doesn't have particulary have major massive power, it has 197.7bhp @ 7620rpm, its all about the piloting! :-)

  • great videos! im a huge nova

fan i have just put a v6 vectra engine in my k plate no have no idea what bhp its pushing out as yet so will have to get on the rollers very soon, whats bhp is that monster?

  • This circuit is amazing, the curves are perfect and a good car, fantastic, you have hands of gold friend.

  • Love your car mate.

  • Thanks for all the comments & interest.

Regarding the M3, I don't reckon its too tight, just depends on how big ya kahoooonas are, in relation to how hard you push it!

You'll have a bloooody brilliant time either way, as it's an awesome track!

  • Nice one, as usual Olly. You make the other drivers look like they are all on constant "in-laps". How slow were some of them? lmfao at the E36 rear spoiler - man after my own heart eh mate?! Been invited to take the old M3 there soon - reckon it will be too tight for the car?

  • ggod arrows olly

    joel

  • Nice going (when it was clear).

Looks like a nicely set up Nova, 2litre engine?

Perfect for a tight and twisty circuit like Cadwell.

Dodgy conditions there, but I still am frequently struck with disbelief by the way some people drive on track days. Don't blame the old 911 driver for not pressing on very hard though :)

  • great driving as always olly..

still cant wait for a passenger ride though :)

  • fantastic driving mate, tricky circuit but you made it look easy!
