  • loomis is lame

  • Well...i like them both, they are on the top list of my fav guitarists...

so,about who's better...Muhammed is a guy that practiced alot this instrument and knows how play GREAT guitar..but Loomis is like he knew guitar before even touching it..is like he was BORN with the knowledge/ability and everything alse it takes to be a GUITAR GOD!!!

  • I love Necrophagist and Muhammed, but I admit that Loomis is better.

  • Muenzner plays the solo in Epitaph, not Suicmez

  • @tart9 They both play different parts of the solo

  • @MetalGodPabloX I'm pretty sure it's just Muenzner but I could be wrong. When they do it live it was always just Muenzner and now its Raatikainen

  • Mäenpäa

  • i prefer far away muhammed but what the fuck is doing a picture of the fuitarrist of dethklok in a battle between suicmez and loomis? and the solo of epitaph is from christian muenzner not muhammed suicmez

  • Loomis in terms of composing... Oh yeah, and Loomis in terms of technique.

  • I'd say Loomis in overall lead but Muhammed in terms of riffs.

  • jeff loomis.

  • Both of them are some of my favorite guitarists, however

Muhammed's technicality and musical ability are too good

his riffs are unmatched and his leads beyond incredible.

  • i think both guitar players are fucking amazing. i tend to listen to more necrophagist then nevermore or jeffs solo project. but when it comes to soloing i think loomis is the winner.

  • I dunno if anyone stated this before, but the second Jeff Loomis solo displayed in this video is actually a trade off between Jeff Loomis and Steve Smyth.

  • Jeff Loomis is way more technical. Musically they are both pretty bland. I've heard every song by both artists and I can say that Jeff is the better guitar player.

  • they both good guitar players.

but i like Muhammed music more. cus its aggressive and melodic at the same time.

i found jeff's music not clean as muhammed's

  • @TheCrusify I respectfully must say you're wrong for long time I thought why it's that some artists sound so clean and other so noisy even when they have almost the same technicality but it's mainly about any other thing but their skills most of the times of course though they are many guitar players who are quite noisy, the place where you play, the Doppler effect, ground connections, guitar strings caliber, pickups, and equipment, for examples suicmez solos sound awful in the ibanez interview

  • Skwisgaar Skwigelf!

  • @loumaTROM Yeah! He rocks!

  • damn the river dragon solo crys marty friedman lol

  • loomis...

  • kjakjakjakaja... muhammed.. 100%

  • I will be one of the few people that will say They are both equally Intense. Both amazing composers, and both having their own unique sound, especially in their sweeps. but when comes to whos faster or more technical, its impossible to compare. I have seen muhammad live shred random shit even bluesy shit :P in between songs for fun. so saying muhammad is only a harmonic minor freak is invalid. its just the music he makes, not plays. they both can play practically anything their hearts desired.

  • muhammad, because he can do death vocals and play crazy shit at the same time

  • They should combine powers and become Necromore or Neverphagist.

  • @Tedham Deadmore or Nevereater? Weird names, but I agree with you hehe

  • Does Jeff Loomis do Death Metal vocals? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm

  • @Tedham is a guitar duel no vocal duel

  • Miles of Machines:

    Intro: I'm like "wtflol!"

Guitar kicks in: I nearly crapped myself.

  • Lol, isn't that Brandon Small at 3:47? XD

  • Don't really like necrophagist songs per say, but the solos are incredible. They just flow through your head and floss your brain with good fucking vibes. Loomis is more a traditional pentatonic shredder. His solos seem to intrude into my mind rather that flow through it. Im really high

  • loomis...hands down

  • Loomis can shred like a mofo, and Suicmez can sweep like a mofo. Either way, they both have the ability to make their guitars their bitches. I like suicmez a little bit more just because he's also a vocalist and I like the way he uses classical metal influences, but that's just me.

  • Muhammed has nice gear. That's about it.

  • People who don't get Death Metal shouldn't be posting on this video. Fucking spastics.

  • the two are gods in guitars perfect sound technique and creativity in my personal opinion is a draw

  • muhammed's pinkies are more creative than jeff...

  • @Esial459 creative?? he use only diminished arpeggios OMG XDD

  • It might be "more creative than we could ever imagine" but still nothing compared to Loomis.

  • Muhamed Suicmez Rules!!!!!!!!

  • MUHAMMED SUICMEZ SHOWS THAT EVERY TURK ROCKS :DDDDDDDDD

    THUMBS UP FOR TURKEY

  • show me one solo of loomis that is near good, near emotional and near articulate as with suicmez's fermented offal

  • jeff is the more versatile and creative player. he has done more. muhammed is great though, he is also very creative.

  • tought choice. but i would pick jeff loomis. i think he is one of the most talented guitar players of all time.

  • Jeff's riffs are a whole lot more catchy while as Muhammed "wanks" with them-way to complicated and uninteresting. In soloing terms I think Muahmmed relies pretty much on tapping/sweeping not that the solos aren't spine chilling and aren't filled with feeling but I think that Loomis will be my pick between these 2 masters.

It is strictly individual who you will like better.

  • Ron Jarzombek wins hahaha videos like this are just stupid . . . the only way to know if you really want to know is have them do a live shred off to see who can come up with the craziest licks play them the fastest and cleanest ...and then see who creates the best improv solo to a chord progression ... I know who I"d vote for in this case but there's really no way to know FOR SURE unless they seriously decided to measure dicks which would subjectively be childish...

  • @Akiachrounoumena

yeah, because apparently speed and improv ability is all there is to guitar playing.

  • @Fluffypopcicle fastest cleanest craziest licks what else is there to guitar playing than creativity and technique? enlighten me?

  • @Akiachrounoumena man you gotta have whole note bends at 80 pm and that feeling dude, because everyone knows when you just play fast you lose all feeling and emotion in the music duh

  • @bimsterfls hey I completely agree but that's a skill... and skills are acquired through practice of designated techniques ... both bends and vibrato are techniques used for getting a specific sound out of a guitar

  • @Akiachrounoumena

since when is playing fast and with insane complexity the only way to be creative? phrasing, good riffs, and out of the box playing are also ways to be creative. you give shredders a bad name.

  • @Fluffypopcicle I don't know how to explain that you just reiterated the two concepts I mentioned that comprise any instrument playing . . . but it doesn't really matter. I don't know where you get off at saying I give shredders a bad name either.

  • @Akiachrounoumena

you implied that fast crazy licks were creativity and technique. if you meant that creativity means other things besides being fast and complicated then i read your comment the wrong way (there were 2 ways to read it, both proper) and i apologize. what i meant by saying you give shredders a bad name is that there are a lot of misinformed people that think shredders consider speed the most important aspect of guitar playing and good shredders don't.

  • @Fluffypopcicle hey man I know but by defintion of the word creativity and technique all the things you mentioned apply... I find that sounding good is more important than being technical but it's best if you can fuse the two and there's no better way to be completely free with your expression once you free the boundaries of limitations that you can only break through practice and development of various techniques...

  • @Akiachrounoumena

agreed. better to have good phrasing than pure speed and technique, but even better to combine the 2.

  • christian Muenzner!! :P!!!!!

  • jeff wins.. river dragon solo holy fuck then miles muhammed put up a good fight... but the god loomis.. won

  • Loomis it's not even close

  • No one can beat [ except Guthrie or Becker i think ] Jeff.. he is a guitar god

  • @0oandreso0 It depends on what aspect of guitar playing you are talking about. If it is playing over chord changed or just improv in general most jazz guitarists would put Loomis to shame. If you are talking strictly metal guitarists there aren't too many better than Loomis.

  • @MrUsedBooks jeff have a great skill for arpeggios.. maybe this isn't the most hardly technique but too many people dominates this after long time.. i have listened some jazz guitarist and think they are awesome.. in composition and skill.. but i listen more metal than jazz and i like jeff style.. well.. in metal.. few guitarist can do a good battle with loomis

  • @0oandreso0 I agree but, in the grand scheme of guitar playing there are a number of better guitarists. In the metal scene there are few that are ebtter.

  • @MrUsedBooks Jarzombek puts Loomis to shame

  • Jeff Loomis all the way!!!

  • Ahahahaha!! 3:40 that's brendon small! It doesn't matter though, he's a really great guitarist too.

  • I'd go Loomis, but it's more of a personal taste there. Suicmez is pretty sick too. I'd kill to have half of either of their skill on the instrument.

  • This is an easy one, Loomis is faster, more technical, more exciting, writes better music, better guitar tone so yeah Loomis is better.

  • Muhammed Suiçmez guitar GOD!!

  • Bit of a Loomis fanboy, so I would say he is better.

Both of them are incredible, and I'd sell my nuts to have their skill.

  • This is a really hard comparison dude xd

  • 2 incredible guitarists. That's all I have to say

  • the whole first half of the main solo in psalms of lydia is not even jeff it's steve smyth

  • What is the intro of the video?

  • @manab133321 hunting high and low by stratovarius :D

  • @darkvampireshinigami yeah it is hehehee

  • ALSO- I have NEVER had to SLOW DOWN one of Loomis's riffs to grasp the true complexity of it. I favor Muhammed. But I've watched Loomis come into his own way before his solo record and I'm glad he has gained even more success because he deserves it. But any Necrophagist song is far more complex than any Nevermore song. That's just because of the difference of genres and musical directions.

  • Loomis=more mainstream(please note both of their playing abilities can't be considered mainstream AT ALL) and has a "happier" sound though he plays a ton of diminished;Muhammed would chop his nuts off before he played in a major key and sounded in anyway happy. Loomis is more about Music Theory; Muhammed is more of a technician than a theorist. Loomis picks more, Muhammed is more Legato (not by much). Listen to their guitar RiFFS not solos for evidence. Neither is "better" Both are GREAT.

  • @shadowofdeth666 Laughed hard at Muhammed chopping off his balls.

  • 03:40 ..thats Brandon Small dumbass !

  • I would compare Muhammed to David Davidson of Revocation... similar style (in some ways), similar guitar model and same amounts of albums ( 2 for both bands )

  • This.... is SO hard, two of my top 5. Sorry... I personally can't compare.

  • why Brandon Small?

  • @gunsproof Because he rapes muhammed and Loomis XD!!!! :P

  • theyre completely diffrnt..jeff plays solos that are catchy and muhammed plays solos that is dark and brutal.

and muhammed wrote not only the guitar n vox part in the album, but every instrument!!

    so in my opinion,muhammed wins

  • короче мухамед самый лучший гитарист во всем мире и нет ни кого лучше него !!!!!!!!!!

  • Muhammed Suiçmez the best !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • OK! Listen up each and every one of you who's fathers had had better ejaculated into the loo,you find it hard to understand Necrophagist because they play something you have never heard before in your life,it takes time to understand and feel their music and when you do you will have no wish to listen to anything else

  • I've never heard nevermore nor about Jeff Loomis, but his techinique (judging by this video) is pretty awesomeand a more musical than that of Necrophagis, which is my favorite band... mainly cuz Necro stays extremely brutal all the way, which is cool but can make you want more solos like Advanced Corpse Tumors (that's the most expresive necro song I think)... so who cares, now i gotta listen to nevermore!

  • these 2 would be great together

  • Hmm don't get me wrong, I absolutely love Necrophagist. But almost all of Muhammed's songs are either in minor, or diminished. Jeff's songs are much more versatile, and no two song's sound the same. Jeff wins in my opinon.

  • Muhammed is good but his tone is kind of boring to me personally. You cant hear any pick at all, could almost sound like a keyboard... Its clean, but maybe too clean. You gotta get a lil dirty! Jeff harnesses all of the imperfections of high distortion with such intensity which I believe makes his playing far more engaging.

  • @Dragonvc27 can´t say that no picking is audible when you don´t know it. for sure you hear the picking on the shredding parts.

  • @eastwoodize There's plenty of picking in his playing most definitely. But i'm more so talking about the sound of the pick striking the string. It sounds a little to clean for my personal taste. You just mainly hear the note and not the physical action. I feel that if muhammed would try to do a rake you wouldn't hear any of the physical "noise". Nonetheless he's an awesome player, I just don't like his tone.

  • @Dragonvc27 i think i know what you mean. his solos may be a little "overclean" compared to jeffs. However, I still can´t decide who´s the better one..

  • @Dragonvc27 thats an interesting take.. I tend to feel the other way. Muhammeds playing sounds flawless and i do like the clarity as it contrasts against the rythym guitars dirty low end , but some pick articulation would be cool to hear now and again.

  • That Epitaph solo is by Muenzner!!

    I'll put in this order:

    Loomis > Muenzner > Suicmez

i think Loomis is more musically versatile, he can give "doom","weirdness" "epic atmospheres" , "happiness", "sadness", but god damn!!! i love those guitar players!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! are so awesome!!!!!!!!!!! :D!!!

  • Though loomis is faster and more technical, I think muhammed is a far better solo writer. Muhammed gives his solo just that little extra atmospheric sound. DOOM IS IMMINENT kind of feel.

  • I have to say Jeff Loomis,

Fermented offal discharge is amazing but a tad bit overrated, advanced corpse tumor is where its at!

  • Fermented Offal Discharge > Jeff Loomis. Enough said. Anyways both of them are just fucking great but I like more Muhammed. 'Beethoven' is only one

  • Hey What the fuck! Comparing a God like Jeff to an absolutely talentless guy who cant even hold a guitar properly. This is not even a contest in my opinion. Get the fuck out of here man!

  • @cvasudevan82 what! muhammed is a fucking monster. the only reason their music music more technical is because muhammed has to do vocals too at the same time

  • @cvasudevan82 Lol obvious troll is obvious :|

  • come on Muhammed Suiçmez is the fucking best

jason becker + Muhammed Suiçmez= the best shit ever

  • I love necrophagist, but I honestly think jeff is a better guitarist, not by a whole bunch though. muhammed is more skilled than jeff, cuz he does two things at once. if muhammed focused only on guitar, he'd be right there with jeff.

Id like to see jeff try to play and do voclas at the same time....woah...

  • @soless360 well he tries a little bit, in Nevermore Concerts he gives backup vocals ;D

  • Muhammed Suiçmez

    Skill: great

    Creativity: sucks

    Reputation: a bit overrated

    Jeff Loomis

    Skill: GOD

    Creativity: GENIUS.

    Reputation: UNDERRATED

    Problem?

  • @WishmasterTheDark the problem is you imbecile faggot. muhammed's music is more creative than you could ever understand

  • @GrowlingVocals ...sure he has nice ideas but when he will grow up he will might construct a solo like Bill Steer's in incarnated solvent abuse. That IS creativity. If you practice Harmonic minor modes and arpeggios at least one hundred thousant times you maybe will become as good as Muhammed but thats all.His phrasing is very precise but is in the style of a million 'copy paste' good guitarists. But creativity is another thing...

  • @WishmasterTheDark lol you think so ? i think you are a muslem hater . muhammed rapes him because he is more skilled . and muhammed is better as a musician

  • @OldCryptopsy

I don't give a fuck because he is Muslim, I consider him as a guitar player, his religion doesn't matter at all, just facts I said with my comment.

Lol he rapes Loomis, no fucking way.... grow up kid, one day you might understand.

  • @WishmasterTheDark

    Neither of you dipshits win.

    It's based on opinion.

  • @OldCryptopsy Muhammed rapes him as a musician? ROFL. You sir are very ignorant. Both excellent guitar players, with two unique styles. I personally favor Loomis more. But going off saying one of these two musicians is more talented then another? What a dipshit.

  • @WishmasterTheDark Muhammed is more creative by far Jeff is great but he shreds n shreds little emotion behind it when I hear a necrophagist solo I hear a crazy cultural clusterfuck of ingeniously complex and bone chilling notes. You don't get much of that with Jeff just the ingenious complexity

  • @WishmasterTheDark Ron Jarzombek

  • All you have to do is post the solo's from Loomis cd "Zero Order Phase" and it's NO CONTEST! TKO! KO! THROW IN THE TOWEL SUIC....

  • @Yngsatchvai

    So true.

  • @Yngsatchvai that or play the instrumental version of Obsidian Conspiracy

  • Riffs: Jeff; Solos: Muhammed. Immagine them both in on tour together trading off solos etc... that would make my decade :D

  • Jeff Loomis is a better guitarist, but Muhammed will always have the upper hand being a vocalist at the same time.

  • Going with Suicmez for music writing ability and versatility, i.e. playing vocals and guitar at the same time.

  • What is the name of the song at the intro?

  • Where did you get the old versions of Fermented offal discharge and advanced corpse tumor? Those ones have the the drum machine on it and a different vocal track.

  • y does it have a random pic of brandon small?

  • 4:00 wait a second.....are you sure thats not brendon small??? haha

  • muhammed fucks all of you so come apart and go.

  • jeff loomis is way more melodic and muhammed is super technical and with a really machine like sound. i like them both personally

  • @aznkriss133 that's 'cause muhammed plays TECHNICAL death metal dude '-'

  • @blackmetaldemon1 just pointing out the difference then concluding my opinion from those observations yes. i have both of necrophagist's albums so i should know that it is some good tech death.

  • Im going to have to stick with Loomis he is a pure legend. I like how clean all his music is and how well flows. His music is eargasmic. He has always been my favorite guitarist.

  • I preefer Loomis, his alternate picking is really awesome...and muhammed stays in the same lines...he needs more creativity.

Miles of Machines...the best shredding song so far \m/

  • the one solo of fermented offal discharge nailed all the solos of jeff in such a way that jeff is completely strangled

  • @josh6232 HAHAHAHAHAA you're retarded.

  • I heard that the new Guitar Hero game will have one more difficulty level added:

    1.Easy

    2.Medium

    3.Hard

    4.Expert

    5.Muhammed Suiçmez

  • @BondOfAshes hahah:P Thats super cool:P LOL!!!

  • muhammed...by far more technical...comon ...nothing is more challenging that necrophagist...best band ever!!!

  • Muhammad! I love Jeff Loomis but Muhammad has such amazing solos and riffs.

  • IM HUNTING HIGH AND LOW!!!

  • both are monsters, but loomis because muhammed can get too typical with patterns at times.

  • I LIKE BOTH , nice vid by the way , very cooool

  • I like both and I would like to see them playing together EARGASM for sure

  • I HATE IT WHEN INDIVIDUALS COMPARE GUITARIST'S - OH! WHo'S the GREATEST??? IN MY Opinion "NO-ONE"!!

  • Heres the thing. Muhammed's rhythm is as good as his lead playing, Jeff Loomis' rhythms are not as crazy BUT Jeff Loomis' depth will cut and mutilate the shit out of you with genius notation. I mean come the bend and speed in psalm of lydia at 1:31, that shit will kick you in the face with such pure beautiful intensity that I went blind.

  • I prefer Loomis' riffs and leads!

  • I absolutely love both of these guitarists playing but I think Loomis wins due to his higher intensity and variety.

  • i'm sorry but no one beats loomis, no matter how many scales or taps and sweeps you do. it is literally impossible.

  • @girocoffy1234 Guys like Guthrie Govan or Kiko Loureiro are way better than loomis. Look up a kid named Daniele Gottardo. They are better.

  • The should get in a band, this video flowed really uniquely but smoothly, id be interested in that band!

  • Loomis is more varied and altogether more creative. He matches Suiçmez's soloing skill easily and is a superior rhythm guitarist, apart from a great acoustic player which I've never even heard Suiçmez do.

  • @antonio610 first of all this is about electric guitar and check out Necrophagist's tabs Muhammed is so great a rhythm player not only he plays fast and technical patterns which cant be played by lead guitar players but he is singing simultaneously too.Nevermore rhythm patters are way easier in comparison with Necrophagist's.As far as the leads are concerned from my perspective they are equal

  • @UnnaturalGR "Singing"

  • @antonio610 lol this proves that you are preoccupied

  • loomis cannot be beaten. Even by metal gods.

  • Fermented offal discharge rapes my earpussies

  • loomis. better tone, better song writing, better rythym guitar in all of his songs, better composition, his slow songs rule the world. loomis loomis LOOMIS!!

  • Loomis is better ....way better!

  • I'll blow my brains out before I pick a favorite.

  • los dos grandes guitarros XD

  • Loomis is way better....

  • muhammed is way better, Jeff loomis solo's are "cool", but Muhammed solo's are awesome and technicals

  • @TheGuitarheavy666 Yep! I have to agree! Both are bloody good guitar players!!

  • muhammed is better in my opinion

  • Both amazing, but muhammed has a bit more feeling in his work, i think.

  • both amazing, but I think Loomis comes out on top

  • I love both, they are unplayables for me, i like a lot the armonic minor scales of Muhammed, but i love the sweet ones of loomis :S

i'll choose loomis because of Nevermore

  • I prefer Suicmez as a soloist, just because he's a little less conventional than Loomis. Both are technically wonderful, but Suicmez is a little more musical in general, plus I prefer his tone over Loomis'.

  • @lastdayinsin3 more musical? lmfao how do you become more musical then another musician?

  • The music that Muhammed writes tends to follow accepted "rules" of music theory, such as the chord progressions and intervals, with music that, while being fast, still has a tune that is memorable. The music that Loomis writes tends to be less musical, more atonal, and more technical with heavier distortion. If you actually need another example, albeit an extreme one, compare free-form jazz to any classical piece you wish, you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

  • @lastdayinsin3 Well worded bud, can't agree more.

  • son la riata los dos

  • Suicmez.

  • When we're talking lighting fast super-shred, Jeff wins, skill-wise, I believe, but Muhammed's solos are more interesting, I'd say, even though Jeff fucking slays. Just my opinion. Both are mindblowingly fantastic guitarists, though.

  • Jeff the best! |m|!

  • Chuck Schuldiner is always on top

  • Jeff Loomis definently wins this battle, but would be stomped by Jari Mäenpää. I don't think anyone holds a candle to that man in this style of play.

  • @precisionmetalhead Watch out what youre saying. Jeff is a lot better than Jari.

  • @NevermindXY Lol you have no idea what you're talking about. I know probably every guitar player that you think is good and judging by your comment i know guitaring and music alot better than you. The only reason you would say that Jeff is better than Jari is because you just don't know music well enough. Jeff is one of the best shredders around and he is not particularly bad musically, but Jari as a musician makes jeff seem pretty shit.

  • @andrewkeen24 Well, am I allowed to tell you that even Im better than Jari and Muhammed? I dont know what youre understanding from playing guitar but Im doin it now for almost 3 years practising for more than 6 hours per day. I do know what Im talkin about. I could play Nevermore songs, I could play Necrophagist. But at the Moment Im doing The flight of the bumblebee -flawless at 260 bpm- and just for fun Technical difficulties by Racer X. SO DONT TELL ME THAT I DONT UNDERSTAND SMTH. FROM MUSIC
