A True Favorite, Real GM EMD units pulling a stack train. I wish they would have least put four on it though. But since GM isn't with emd anymore locomotive variations are completely different now, but can you imagine this a GP90H-2AC! A 6000hp 4 Axle Locomotive but it is built on an SD40-2 frame for better weight distribution. That 265 4-stoke H engine will do good for a loco like that (I believe). But the EMD SD80MAC should have been more popular with Class 1 railroads, they were good locos
I'm not kidding. And please don't go on a comment rampage on me please. It's happened to me before, and I do not want that to happen again! I'm asking you politely, as a fellow railfan. I understand how much you love those locomotives. Thank you. BTW awesome video ic6071.
sorry im just really upset! HOW DARE THEY RETIRE THE F45s! Its bad enough that they retired the Warbonnet Paint scheme. now THIS! WTF is next...................."lets retire all the SD40s." Peace Fellow Railfan
i know, all i see is freaking CW44AC's, Dash-9's, or some variation of the ES44 series. its getting so annoying, i dont even see the SD70ACe any, and thats a really popular locomotive
i know, EMD has soul man! GE is just trying to make money. i wish EMD still made 6-axle locos like they used to, before this "eco-friendly" thing kicked in. and i have not been able to get a definition on what that means yet
That's not a Z-train. Z trains have 85% piggy back cars. 3 or 4 engines, I am retired from ATSF and I cut my teeth on Z trains. Then known by the number 9 in their designation. Hired on in 1973.
@ic6071 hey know dont forget the frisco and rock island. LONG LIVE THE FRISCO! oh wait far to late to say that. oh well long live the frisco's distinct horn!

I feel ya bro. I'd rather see some older power myself. (Gettin' tired of GEVO's lol.) I don't see any Geeps or SD's near my place anymore.

I see the same things lol. But, I have seen at least one leading a BNSF intermodal recently. Personally I like the Ace's more than GEVO's.

awesome power and paint schemes. 2 dash 2s on a stack train is a very simple but very special lashup.

Despite the weathering & age of the lead unit, that SD40-2 Bluebonnet sure as hell looks good in the lead pulling that Z-train!!!!

Reminds me of how I make up trailer trains in the Marias Pass Approach in Trainz Railroad Simulator.
