Something's not right here....the date above says 1978, but she's talking about the track "I Believe You" in the beginning, which I thought came from "Made In America" and that would have been 1981..
nice to hear her talk aswell as sing. I remember that tragic day back in 1983. Her death to me was as big as Elvis or John Lennon to others. We lost a beautiful lady with one of the greatest voices of alltime.
Beautiful singer, loved listening to her on interviews but I did not like the comment about killing herself. Maybe then it wouldn't have bothered me as much as now.
I also dont like that comment about her killing herself. But i just love listening to her talk as much as i love to hear her sings. She was an amazing lady who had an amazing gift who shared it with the whole world. Her amazing voice is truly like velvet.
It's really great to hear Karen's voice, since I unfortunately wasn't born yet in the 70's. But then I somehow discovered about the Carpenters and became a big fan, now in 2009. I've heard almost all of the songs and I completely loved them. They're just.....magical. I've made a research about them and discovered their story and Karen's unfortunate death at the age of 32 because of the anorexia nervosa. Boy, I just wish she was alive recording more songs for the Carpenters' fans to enjoy.
It chilled me to the bone when she made that remark, "If we didn't have a hit by the time I was 20, I'd have to kill myself!" It's eerie to hear someone who died so tragically make joking comments about killing themselves. I hope nobody takes this comment the wrong way; I'm a huge fan of Karen and I don't mean her any disrespect.
Thank you so much for this. I was too young to listen to interviews of the Carpenters back then but I can surely appreciate them now. Pop music is at an all-time low which means great music is ready to make a comeback!
Thank you so much in a biulliokatrilloin for this!, i am crying now ....i love this team

Amazing to hear that more time went into the track "Calling Occupants" than into their magnificent third album - the tan album entitled "Carpenters".
I feel they had lost the plot. I would have settled for another album of the quality of the tan album.
