Right, last time I checked it was the NFL that's basically been neutered the last 5 years with their rules changes. You basically can't tackle WRs or QBs anymore without drawing a flag nowadays. Not to mention moving the kickoffs forward so there's no injuries (or returns). And fair catching is pretty much the biggest sissy rule in all of football.

Right. because there were so many players getting paralyzed before... Defenders in the NFL now can barely play the position because offensive players are so protected by the refs. With QBs, it's not just late hits, it's basically any hit that isn't in the tiny part of their torso gets a flag.

The 5 yard kickoff does make a big dif (a lot less returns last year) and in the CFL they have to return the ball, no waving your hand to avoid a hit.
