hi, I have had windows 7 on my pc for a while, therefore I have many files and programs, on it, if I were to want to duel boot with ubuntu, would it remove everything on which is on windows 7?
@michalaras3 Check (01:48). The Ubuntu partition is automatically created and you only have to slide to the size you want to use. Of course, your Windows partition needs to have at least 5G of free space
@Eman01996 and others having a problem, instead of using a usb drive, extract the iso, using winrar, to your desktop, then run the "wubi.exe" and you should have the option.
@ViktorShizzles ok, so you might need to install some network driver. You should go on an Ubuntu forum and they will give you the right steps to diagnose your issue.
I downloaded ubuntu to a flash drive and tried to install it, but it doesnt give me the option to run it alongside windows 7 like i want to at 1:25 in your video. How do i get it to show up? It's ubuntu 11.10
@Eman01996 It depends how your setup is. In this video, on the destination harddrive, there is only Windows installed. If you have multiple hard drives, it might have difficulties to see it. You should try the choice "something else". Like that, you will see all your drives and partitions.
are you russian? coz your accent kicks ass

@THKDomin8r Hi. No it won't since it only resizes the hard drive, but you still need to do a backup just in case a problem arise.

@ViktorShizzles that would be at the top right, near the clock. You will see an icon to connect to a wired or wifi connection

Does resizing the partition (like you did in this video) delete any existing files on the windows os/partition? This is concerning me.
BeholdTheFinalAge 2 months ago
@BeholdTheFinalAge No, you keep all the files. You won't be able to resize to a smaller size than what you are using.
