  • Good music...:)...Syd

  • I just love how 4 voices rockin' a gospel tune can sound like a whole chorus. Great sound!

    Thanks Cory!

    Moosie

  • Yeah, vocal stacks on the tracks help a lot don't they!

  • I gather you've never heard a good gospel quartet in real life. They don't need multitracking.

  • It's hard to find a group that doesn't do it..it helps build your sound so much and make it sound more like the CD. When you record a project you stack each vocal 2 or 3 times. Gaither does it..everybody..I didn't mean any negative by it..no sin in stacking..I wouldn't step on stage without it..makes you sound your best!

  • I suppose I'm being a bit backward here. I've played with multitracking, so I'm fully aware of it. What I'm talking about is a quartet of vocal talent good enough that it can stand in front of an audience with or WITHOUT a sound system, much less stacking.

If you "wouldn't step on stage without it," then you're too dependent. Try pulling the plug. How do you sound as yourself?

  • The sound is fine without them, you just don't get that "airy" sound without them. I love stacks, they add so much to your performance. They make it full and rich. They have to be mixed right though, some groups are almost lip syncing with so many stacks. The Hoppers have a trademark sort of airy sound and that is achieved with stacks. I love them! They are awesome! Listen to them on stage here on youtube singing Jerusalem..lots of stacks...sounds great!

  • Hey dumbdexter it's not about sound. It's about the anointing of the Holy Ghost!

  • The Inspirations do not use stacks. A lot of groups don't, but a lot of them do ... I mean, it's just an added thing that some groups use to make the sound more powerful ... how do you think Bill Gaither has managed to "sing" bass for so long?

  • That's tracks not stacks

  • Thank you Cory, I like the Hoppers along with other from the Gaither Concerts. Thank you for this production as I hadn't seen this one

    God Bless you love x x x
