@andrben Not counting prejudice, I think its because of lack of funding. This leads to less training. Police officers have a hard job. They step it up around minorities because of what they consider past experiences. "I always patrol this poor neighborhood, all gangsters encountered thus far have been ___, therefore most ____ I encounter have a greater chance of being gangsters" Fallacies like this are uprooted by good training that teaches officers to look for mannerisms & not race.

Muslims can't bust out a rug and start praying without "alarming the folks" in some Bible thumping towns. I'm brown, legal to carry concealed in Texas, and have had bad experiences with police (Hispanic just like me). 1 wrongful arrest, and another time I was handcuffed and spread out on the floor. I understand their job is hard, but they step it up around darker citizens.

In Ohio we have had cops go ballistic on white people for carrying guns. So at least in Ohio race isn't the issue, ignorant cops are.

@QuicDra You must not be black, uneducated, or live in a part of the world I want to move to. Same rules do not apply for black and white people in reality, which means that exercising ones right is not as easy. If a white person gets stopped by the police, they have the "right" to get upset, or even call the police names. If a black or brown person do that, they fare a much higher risk of getting shot, or arrested. Just one example to make the point, can be applied in many situations
