You are slowed down to match, and thats ok. Being a demoman gives you an excuse to keep strafing left and right at corners and to fall back behind everyone.

Unless you were recording at like 120FPS (doubtful) there is no way the animation would look so smooth when you slowed down the video.

Valves demo program records the data from the game. It's literally recreated using recorded audio and all data from the original piece of the game you recorded. Even if your computer sucks, you can record a smooth demo.
