  • If blackfore was clean and did what the do, no one would hate on them. Corps style and Show style are very different, however playing clean beats is all the same. Just imagine how great it would be if show bands stopped half assing it and played clean? The hornlines do, so why do the drumline constantly play dirty? Being "entertaining" has absolutly nothing to do with taking enough pride in what you do to play clean. If they don't care. They should. They're making themsleves look foolish.

  • @pvtcairns

Not all "show" lines are like that... Number o1 we're comparing a "college" who doesn't necessarily pick their talent to a "independent" organization like a Drum Corp who does have some what of an option. number 2 Corps practice everyday during the summer unlike colleges who don't have that luxury. Blackfire has produced some quality talent including 2 blue devils and solo PASIC soloists. IIt'd be one thing so Compare a Show line to a College Corp line. But DCI? realy?

  • 1:01 = sheer genius and percussive euphoria!

  • Bass drums sound too muddy.

Articulate, with stick control.... good job, just clean it up now.

  • @carribe

Euh, this was played in 2002. No need to clean up anymore ;)

  • @pizamiata yeah...and it was the February camp to boot...

  • @pizamiata

Wasn't that the same year that they placed out of the top 12 for the 1st time since 1972?

  • funcky ;D

  • sweet but I need more cowbell tho

  • Madison Scouts whats up hey i am in the navy drumline thats cool keep the good work up

  • I love how everyone always compares lines to the blue devils. lol they arent the ONLY good drumline in america

  • @yayxforxsteveo thank GOD somebody realizes that

  • @yayxforxsteveo Exactly.....BD actually has a pretty retarded line....don't get me wrong, they're very clean, they're good and all, but that's only because they play easy beats.

  • @GMSnare

They're not even that clean nowadays....

They USED to be really good way back in the day. After 2003 it went downhill.

    Not sure what happened

  • @MrZepher67 - Actually, they got real clean again in 2005/2006 under Collin McNutt and company, but then spent a couple years re-building when that staff left. They are once again moving back up the ladder with Thom Hannum and Jeff Queen teaching the line. The key is consistancy. If they can hold on to the current staff for at least the next several years, they will be in the top 6 again.

  • The splitting snares are soooooo awesome.

Anyone know where to get the sheets for this?

  • sahweeeeet

  • are there any vids on there 2004 street beat? i cant find it anywhere.

  • these beats are tooooooo raw!

    muuust haaave sheeeets

  • OMG they're better thant he Blue Devils

  • Tempo.

  • I love the splitting snares.

  • Love it, love it, love it.

  • Holy crap! That is poetry in motion! I'll never forget seeing the DCI semi finals in San Antonio in 2005 while I was at Combat Medic School @ Ft. Sam Houston. I was literally at a bar the night before and this guy I was drinkin with told me it was the next day. I about died. I went of course and is something I'll never forget!

  • the singles at :33 get me everytime

  • Does anyone have the sheet music from this? Want to trade :-)

  • i would love this too! willing to pay. let me know if you find anything

  • Anyone have the SCore for this?

Will trade with exclusive Stuff :-)

  • THIS WAS FRIKKIN ILL!!!! (In other words EPICALLY AWESOME)

  • I have many memories of that exact spot they are standing. Shows are nothing compared to the adrenaline of "camps." There is so much pressure to succeed. Drum corps has no equal.

  • 0:36 - 0:40 is a beat by yakas; did he write this whole street beat?

  • Comparing Blackfire and its style to a Drum Corps is moot. Each are seperate to each other and cannot effectively be compared IMHO. Personally I prefer the drum corp battery to any other, which I have listened to both, course I am also partial to Drum corp having marched. Both styles are good. So there really isn't a need to bash either side. Enjoy the music, because music in any form is a gift.

  • blackfire can kiss my ass!!!!

  • the school that im at now? duhh it's a middle school line! The school i'm going to next year? no fucking way! their section leader is marching 3rd snare for infinity and will be marching Blue Devils next year. He writes book and drill! look up Westport High School FMBC 2008-2009 season

  • Blackfire plays dumb gimmicks that have been around for ever, and are probably one of the dirtiest "drumlines" that have caused my ears to bleed.

  • You don't want me to reply because Blackfire sounds terrible and they are awful.

  • Dude, that's a no. When you think music is just/more for entertainment, you are no musician. Let me guess.. You are no musician? Or perhaps a very bad one.

  • Comment removed

  • ha, you make me laugh. true music is the result of actual talent and effort. otherwise, it's called noise.

and these guys have fun while getting it "in sync". a clean sounding drumline sounds better than a dirty one, that's anyone's opinion. i mean, those visuals, maybe a few inside jokes. c'mon, it's all good fun.

  • wat u talkin bout, soulja boy is trash... jeezy isn't far behind and wayne is alright. open urself up to some better rap, your missin out

  • yeah i really doubt it

  • lmao

you dont know what you're talking about.

  • Maybe it's just a really blond guy who has black eye browns? Ever thought of that? lol He does looks kind of like a girl but it's an all-male corps.

  • thank you....jesus

  • It is truly amazing how one person can start an argument unintentionaly, and other people carry it on.
