@run4jc No issues at all. The Quark AA (and 123) heads are rated to 4.2 volts. It's unusual that they don't make it more obvious in their literature that the 14500 Li-ion is fully compatible.
Of course it gets a little warmer than on a NiMH AA, but by no means alarmingly hot. My buddy has been running 14500 exclusively in this light for about 5 months now, and it's still going strong.
