Sure they're not, but I was addressing a different part of your video. I was touching on "there's no good audio editor on windows, unfortunately." I agree that there is not a free equivalent to Garage Band on the Windows platform.
I love Chris's videos & i have alot of respect for him, but this was very rude and uncaring. I mean i understand liking OS X because i do as well, but that does not mean you have an asshole about it. If he was unsure of an alternative or didn't know of one he could have turned the question to his chat room or posted it on his blog. I remember back when he switched to OS X for his main OS how said he couldn't stand Smug Mac users. Well, if this isn't being one then i don't know what is.
Audacity is probably the best and most simple to use -don't know how much better it can get other than getting into professional software such as reason. Besides that, most Mac users Are cocky and won't admit that there is a better piece of software to use for windows that isn't available for osx.
I agree. I mean it's fine to like a Mac, i wouldn't part ways with mine for anything. But that doesn't mean i have to bash Windows or Windows software. I own both a Mac & a PC & use them both daily. To say one is awsome and the other sucks is being very closed minded. They both have there strengths and weaknesses.
i didnt say i was perfect but chris always says he supports all software and hardware and isnt just for one brand only but sometimes he says dumb shit like this
where camn i get that ringtone?

Wow, that was kind of rude of Chris.
Anyhow, if you need an audio editor for garageband type multi tracking at a reasonable price download Reaper.

If anyone needs some help with audio editing in Windows, just shoot me a message. I'll be glad to help :)

They are NOT like Garage Band however with a ton of sound samples..etc built in.
Far as Audio editors goes, Audacity works great.

:) I see.

There may not be "free" equivalent, but to say that there is no good audio editor for windows incorrect. How about:
Sound Forge 9
Adobe Audition
Cubase
Nuendo
Pro Tools
Sonar
Audacity
AudioTN30 2 years ago
To be honest Windows is better for audio editing due to Adobe Audition. It's industry standard in radio/audio production and there is no Mac version.
Garageband is more of a music making suite, not an audio editor. For music production, Pro Tools shits on Garageband from a great height too.

Ok, here is the thing.
He asked for a Garageband EQUIVALENT.
If he asked for a good audio editor, Audacity all the way.
But comparing Audacity to Garageband, is like comparing a bike to a car.
Yea it works, but its not as good/efficient.
I also use BOTH Windows and Mac OS X.
I love Audacity on Windows but when I really want get into editing, I'm sorry Garageband. Game Over.
However, I do believe Chris was a little harsh in this video, but hey, aren't we all from time to time?
