  • Tomatoes are fruits. Just saying.

  • Pandora Ruins music sounds kinda creepy... idk y...

  • I named my girl "Fianna". Then I saw another character called Phanna and was like "Oh fuck"

  • @Greensmurf Reeeeally creepy!!! Along with Succession of Witches(FF8) and Jenova's Theme (FF7) is one of those themes that you shouldn't hear alone in a dark room in the night.

  • wait, isn't the sprite female? ^^

  • @Wanderingsage7 The Sprite has no specified gender.

  • OH no zombies *insert Super ghouls and ghosts theme here*

  • Oh god, Pandora and it's clown music. This song will always haunt my dreams.

  • i love it when you get level 8 on the glove weapon, then you do a fireball like Ryu.

  • In the JP version, Phanna (Pamela) says much more directly that she's going to be a sacrifice.

  • Tomatoes are fruit

the way I learned fruits are fruiting bodies of plants that prodece seeds and vegetables are usually the roots, stalks or leaves of a plant

  • When you attack the zombies, they look like you hit them in the nuts. XDDDDD

  • Yeah, Its true, tomatoes are fruit, however prepared as vegetables. The point of them being fruit is probably the reason why I can put it in my mouth without throwing up......unlike other vegetables.

  • THE MUSIC IS FUCKING WEIRD :D

  • There's no need to swear. But yeah it is kinda wierd! Keep it up Baily bros!

  • qq.

  • you can kill the tomato man by charging your weapon to 2. Guaranteed kill! And you don't use Mana! =D

  • what exactly means "weapon-grinding"? i mean i know magic grinding, but how can you grind with weapons?? something like a glitch?

  • In Secret of Mana your magic and weapons can "level up" and become stronger when you use it. "weapon-grinding" is essentially running through an area killing everything with a weapon until it "levels up" to it's current maximum. If you chose not to do this, you will find battles increasingly harder as you progress with the story, as your attacks will not do as much damage.

  • oh ok, now thats weapon grinding...ok, thanks for the heads up, i`m no american, so i dont understand evrything right ya know :D

  • Another of my favorite area musics in the Pandora Ruins... mostly since it's different.

  • i was lvl 43 in the ruins. i overtrained!!

  • :O, that musta taken hours even days!

    way over trained

  • Earthslide is called Earthquake in the Japanese version, and more interestingly, its icon in the ring menu is an animated catfish (though the spell animation is the same, IIRC).

Catfish are strongly associated with earthquakes in Japanese folklore (I believe there's some giant catfish god under the islands that causes earthquakes or something).

Pretty obvious why they changed it to the rock ball for Western audiences though. "What the? Is that a fish?!"

  • Phanna was originally Pamela. I suspect this is some Woolsey "Pamela must sound exotic to Japanese ears" stuff like with Tina-to-Terra in FFVI.

By similar logic, Yeshua was a very common name in the Aramaic-speaking world, so Bible translators should make it "Steve" rather than the exotic-sounding "Jesus". But eh, whatever. :P

  • wat do u press to charge?

  • hold attack button.

  • Epic Fights... and tomato's are fruits

  • mana seeds problably tastes like chlorene

  • tomatos r fruits

  • so are pumpkins (technically)

  • The music of Pandora Ruins sounds like gamelan music. I wonder if that was intentional.

  • Aha! I should have done my research BEFORE posting. I found this information: The game's soundtrack was composed by Hiroki Kikuta. Kikuta incorporated elements of Balinese music into the score, which include gamelan and kecak.

Find out more about gamelan and kecak music on wikipedia, and even here on Youtube. I really love gamelan, so immediately picked up on it here when I heard the song playing.

  • HIMOTEP... HIMOTEP...

    LMAO dude, good joke?

  • those tomato men are so tough you might as well avoid them anyway.

  • cats are cute

  • I hate that tomato guy

  • i like the music on this stage

  • Creepiest music in a VG ever!!! But I lol´d at the tomato men summoning zombies!

  • The level 2 axe is effective against plants and fish. Tomato Man is a plant. Charge up axe to level 2 and you will hit him nearly every time.

  • Hehe, tomatoes are fruits

  • Where did she go?

'Your princess is in another castle'

    Oh.

  • Exactly ^^

  • i love that show

  • Tomatoes are fruits.

  • I always hated this area, because the music is so frakking creepy!

  • Have you tried doing the Pandora Ruins theme on Mario Paint at all? :)

  • I want to correct you on the Tomato guys. Ive been able to hit them with the level one charge on the sword. What I've done is spend a lot of time in the front room going back and forth with the Tomato man in and out because eventually he stops spawning. At that time I go to a door and back in. I only spend time to go to the inn so that I can restore the girls mana. Hope that helps anyone out that wants to power level and get a little ahead on the game.I went away from the game while doing this:)

  • Timotei, was that the shampoo commercial joke?

  • I think he means Imhotep.

  • Hey:

if you charge your weapon, you can hit the tomato man.

Although that's more effort than it's worth, if you are good with the melee system in this game you can actually kill everything in this area with just weapon attacks...well in this segment that is (it's probably doable vs the boss but I'd not recommend it).

Never found the chess piece guys that rough - you can just gang hit lock them in place. After my first playthough I also got tired of charging weapons just to hit tomato men.

  • This is one of the hardest sections, from the best of my memory.

Hope you had a happy Thanksgiving.

  • im more of a dog person. don't get me wrong cats are great but I would have a one if my sister was not allergic to them.

  • braaaaainssssss...

  • Hope you get well soon, take your time. Out of curiosity, are you two on the same computer or on connection via the emulator?

  • tomatoes aren't a vegetable, they're a nightshade.

  • Another great video from the Bailly brothers! Mummy reference ftw! I'm not really a Brendan Fraser fan, but I liked him in the Mummy movies for some reason. Anyway, great job again and Happy Thanksgiving everybody!

  • Cat loving bastard.

  • cats r ok... but the difference between thwm is that usually cats r a little bit u no unfrendly. the dogs r like hector from Fire Emblem

  • Tomato Man? What? Well, first time playing through there.

  • the music in the ruin... mysterious. What I remember about that girl with watery blue color hair is one who became evil? wow, tomato that produce zombies?

  • Aren't you worried yull under lv if you keep skipping?

  • JB! YOU WERE LATE! Sounds like you were eating something haha.

  • Tomato-men are exceeding hard to hit. I've killed them melee but it involved pushing them into a corner and hit and miss. But they only have like 40 HP and die in one hit to Undine magic, even if you multi target. I just started a new file a few days ago and bought 4 faerie walnuts from Neko so it was a viable option. The evil swords aren't too hard to hit and the chess knights are so easy I don't know why you always skip them.

  • Tha Zombies say Imphobrains Imphobrains... :D Good Episode...

  • Tomatoes are a fruit.

  • Scientifically, they're a fruit, but culinarily, they're a vegetable.

  • Es muy parecido a SwordMana, pero mas antigüo.

  • Happy Thanksgiving HC and JB

  • Get well soon HCBailly!

  • Sorry, but our Phanna is in another castle. lol

I never used the Saber spells much before, totally forgot that the Moon Saber drains HP. As far as Earth Slide vs. Gem Missile goes, I don't know why, but I've always used Gem Missile. Might just be an extreme conservative thing. Which is weird 'cause for the most part I'm not really that conservative otherwise in life.

  • Probably because 3 Gem Missiles do more damage than 2 Earth Slides.

  • That's what I was thinking, I wasn't sure about that though. It also seems, although it might be my imagination, but in the case of enemies NOT weak against Earth, Gem actually does more damage than Earth Slide but I could be wrong.

  • I usually prefer gem missile because it is more mana efficient and the extra damage from Earth slide does not seem justify it's cost. I only end up using it if I have an odd number of mana against a boss weak against Gnome.

  • Thanks for uploading on Thanksgiving!

  • LOL popioe marry Purim!
