you know, if this fire had gotten any closer, the town of Mariposa itself would have been threatened. no one will ever be able to thank those that risked their lives for this small town enough for all the help they gave to stop this. BTW: that angel in the ashes at the beginning became the symbol for all the hope that people still have in this town.

start showing the private contract engines and hand crews who do most of the work with no credit show me one video with the 3000 plus engines and hand crews that are private that work on the fires i am sick of structure departments that get all the credit for wildland fires it is goverment interagencies[ blm usfs usda dnrc dfw and PRIVATE CONTRACTORS] that do the work stop showing structureboys show wildland boys and there 4x4 rigs that get the job done a real wildlandfirefighter nw mt.

Someone needs to make a video showing all the hard work Californias inmate firecrews do too. These guys are out there working 24 hour shifts for a dollar an hour doing the exact same work Cal Fire firefighters are doing and get no recognition at all.

the inmates work for cdf..there lead by cdf..the con crews do the work no one wants to do..this fire was a cdf fire. But con crews work hard..

Inmate crews do great work but lets be realistic they are there for a reason and it wasn't for being outstanding citizens.

I was in the

CA Youth Authority in ventura cA 10 years ago Were worked for CDF. Those were the best days of my life, besides my kids. But we fought fires for a dollar an hour. We were really good to, we were in top physical shape. Just wanted to say thanx for u recognizing us!!!!Its very hard work but well worth it!!!

The fire is contained and a trip to yosemite shouldnt be aborted, I dont believe the park has anynore smoke or visiblity problems.

No they're very strict, I have my cdf wildland cert and was allowed near it due to my volunteer firefighting work. Thanks for the comment.

Great Job on this video!!!! great pictures. Also Are they not strict up there about people being that close to the fire. Because when the Complex fire was down here in Carmel. If you were that close you would get arrested :). But great job on the updates an this amazing video.
