The Iron Lady and Streep's performance is not an accurate interpretation of Thatcher as a person or as a ruler. It avoids subjects such as the miners strike, the Falkland's War to avoid controversy. Thatcher destroyed the working class. She destroyed education, the public and the health sector. If you went into this movie wanting to learn Thatcher's character you've picked the wrong film for that.
Although I didn't like the movie too much in it's self, as I thought that it focused too much on her dementia which I felt was in poor taste.
It makes me wonder why most politicians these days don't have the balls to make the tough decisions. It made her unpopular but she sorted the country out,and for that she deserves our gratitude for being the best prime minister my country has ever had. Oh and she didn't actually want to get rid of the milk but her party voted against her.
