  • I wanna be American!

  • @squierdrakon thats wake nation from yarsteday

  • OBAMA RULEZ

  • W Obama

  • dang! 700k jobs lost a MONTH??? geez.

  • @winchestboyzarehot yeah, it was horrible. american laborious population is around 150 million, and currently almost 10% of this population are unemployed. that's like almost 15 million.

  • People still have the option to keep their current provider that's the thing about it. It's if you can't afford your own insurance then you have to go with the government program which is better than having no insurance at all. That's all the health plan is about. He explained this more than once to people, he's not trying to hide anything he doesn't need to.

  • I apologize for my getting excited boognish100. You are entitled to your opinion and hey I don't agree with everything obama does either. I didn't like the idea that he spend millions on car dealers because the average american can 't buy a new car anyway. However the cash for clunkers program proved very effective and popular. I still didn't th ink he should have gave GM or those other dealers millions of dollars because they should have been planning for this.

  • It pisses me off because people are so intent on destroying and blaming him for everything that they forget the grade C president we had that got us into this mess in the first place. I believe bush knew exactly where bin laden was hiding given the fact that he actually did business with bin laden's close relatives and flew them out of the country day before 9/11 bet you didn't know that one huh?

  • Being somewhat better then then a fundamentalist, war mongering moron is not the best barometer for what makes a good president. By your logic, he shouldn't be held accountable to the progressive changes he promised on his campaign, promises he is now not delivering on. I'm not blaming Obama for the mess, I'm pointing out he isn't putting up a particularly strong fight to change the status quo.

  • what in the blue hell are you talking about boognish100? First of all if you PAID ATTENTION HE DESCRIBES HIS HEALTH CARE PLAN NOT ONCE, NOT TWICE BUT THREE DAMN TIMES IN DETAIL TO THE PUBLIC! if you have health coverage YOU CAN KEEP YOUR CURRENT PROVIDER. Did you hear what i just said? IF YOU HAVE HEALTH COVERAGE YOU CAN KEEP YOUR CURRENT PROVIDER!

  • I don't think you understand my position. I'd like to see a public option, ideally a single payer.

Did YOU pay attention to what Obama said?

Obama: "The kind of plan we're prosing is we help people buy insurance in the private marketplace."

The public option had disappeared from his rhetoric. Although in recent days, pressure from progressive groups has led to a possible revival of the public option in the bill, with a caveat that deviant states could opt out of the scheme. Time will tell..

  • Well it's no secret that insurance companies have been getting over on people old and young. Obama is trying to change all that to cover every american whether he is working or not. The private market option is designed to help people buy cheaper insurance as well as employers to offer cheaper insurance to the public rather than give these big insurance companies the money who have been getting over for years

  • What your describing sounds like the public option. Giving the money to the private insurance companies to provide universal coverage is the private option. The public option (something Obama shied away from) would have the government offer the cheaper insurance.

  • Likable though Obama is, he is a disappointment. He talks a good game on health reform, the environment and financial regulation, but it's not born out in policy. The public option has been dropped on health, single payer wasn't even on the cards, he offers mere aspirations on carbon reductions at the G20, while China actually offers solid movement on the issue, he hasn't managed to establish any international consensus on financial regulation...

  • He's way too pragmatic when it comes to the progressive changes he campaigned on. On top of that he's now stalling on increasing troop numbers in Afghanistan knowing full well even with the increased resources, the US is highly unlikely to achieve its objectives of a secure, uncorrupt, western friendly democracy. Certainly not in a war of this magnitude, and in a region this unstable. It's a waste of time, lives and money, he knows it, whether he'll have the balls to admit it is another thing.

  • did you hear what i just said if it wasn't for him we would all be finished as a country he is the glue holding us together he is the man fixing this country whether people like him or not. It was bush stupid ass idea to invade iraq with over 100,000 troops that is why afghanistan doesn' t have troops not obama's fault. duh.

  • If Obama wanted more troops in Afghanistan he could use forces being withdrawn from Iraq. Limited resources to meet McChrystal's call isn't really the issue. Obama's stalling because he knows increasing troop numbers in Afghanistan is futile. His problem is, he campaigned to ratchet up the fight, which he did, doubling the troop numbers since January, but it's not working, and he doesn't want to spend more time, lives and money, as it'll be disproportionate to the weak outcome that'll result.

  • He is the man stablizing this economy as people are getting jobs but they don't put that on the news do they? He is the man that has proven to be more intelligent that our last president and is on the fast track to becoming one of the most honest, for the people president we've had in a very very very long time.

  • Unemployment is increasing month on month, the economy is showing signs of recovery because the beneficial effect these job cuts have had on businesses balance sheets. I don't think there's any celebration to be had just yet. My issue is Obama doesn't seem too intent on establishing an international consensus on financial regulation, which is what is needed to prevent such a colossal failure resulting again. Nothing has changed in financial regulation, it's business as usual.

  • I can understand that he did mention to these people to spend the stimulus money wisely and he got on CEOs for being the crooks that they are especially in times like this. I think if he is stalling to increase troop numbers could mean he is trying to establish financial regulation. He could be starting with the war first. I agree he should take troops from iraq and place them in afghanistan but one thing is certain everything he promised in his campaign he has done and then some.

  • He didn't get on the CEO's, it was all just rhetoric. He hasn't capped bankers pay.

Increasing troop numbers and financial regulation are two separate issues, there is no connection.

I wasn't saying he should increase troop numbers using forces withdrawn from Iraq. The US should get out of Afghanistan, it's a futile war.

He hasn't even scraped the surface of the promises he made on the campaign, that's nonsense. Suggesting anything of the sort is just blind cheerleading.

  • @boognish100 Yep.

  • @598890 hahahahahahahahahahahah
