The only war I am against as a conservative American is the war in Iraq. My best friend was killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11 and my other good friend was killed in Iraq in a war that had nothing to do with terrorism. The US should only focus on one area which is Afghanistan the source of evil that caused this war in the first place. We are building damn schools and roads for Iraq and we are closing our schools down we need to take their oil as repayment.

However, I question whether this is the proper link in the chain to attack. Sudano66 does have a point in that there are people that may need that equipment in a dire way. I hate to say it, but when you go to straighten something out, you work on strengthening the weakest link. That is what Israel is doing with the Palestinians, and what we're doing in Iraq. By stabilising the region in two places, we can start putting pressure on a global stage against Iran, Jordan and other countries that sponsor terrorism.

Trying to end the war OURSELVES, rather than rely on politicians who exploit the war for votes. If the Stryker does not get sent, then the troops won't go anywhere, thus preventing them from engaging in combat. It does matter what we're there for, because it's an unjust war. I have a brother in the New Jersey National Guard, just throwing that out there.

All I believe is that a US occupation of Iraq isn't necessary, and that these protesters are trying to put a wrench in the war machine which they see as harming Iraqis.
