All of your findings with this piece are nothing short of relative. It's peacefully haunted me for years, and more recently every day, as I had rediscovered it here. This is my music.
No other piece of music reminds more of the most beautiful (looking and sounding) person I've ever known, now at 49 years. I once told her that her voice was "the aural equivalent of a caress." I first heard Cantilena during a flight from the Midwest to Phoenix in '99 while I was over New Mexico's Rockies. It's still my favorite guitar piece.
Nostalgic memories of Saturday mornings with my father playing this disc, and awakening to this track. He played it on a radio show over a month ago, on a Saturday morning.
This is one of those pieces that you hear and now matter how bad of a day you have had it brings you back to the belief that anything is possible. I know that sounds corny but I don't care!
It's eerie that you described the guitar as a storyteller of cherished memories and to recall the blessing of life, for I heard this piece on the radio today in my horse barn and all I could think about was the great memories of my beloved late parents who sacrificed their lives to raise us 11 children. Very moving. Thanks for uploading it.

Listening to the Cantilena brings back the memory of a great love that is tragically no more.

An absolutely beautiful piece of music. Heard it driving out in the Derbyshire countryside one night and it was so amazing.

Not at all corny. Music is the glory of Mankind, revealing the greatness of the human spirit.

@NonInflatable an outward expression of inward humility, music is "food for the soul" so people say , i suppose then we "are what we eat":)
