Even this music cant stop me saying that ,if that dancing girl in the video had danced like that in front of me I would have punched her in the face. She looks like a cobra being hypnotized by a flute.
what i imagine is being in the verdugo mountains at night (near burbank, the natural border between burbank and pasadena), where you can barely hear the cars.
I really don't want to be another one of those psychonaut youtube guys who say "Oh yeah this song is so awesome when you're trippin on _____, blah blah blah". But, when I was on mushrooms, this song was...just...perfect.
BOC did a beautiful thing without knowing they did beautiful things. This in itself is a beautiful thing. Thank you, BOC, for the beautiful sound of things.
I would love BOC to do film soundtracks!! So many scores these days, are loud generic tripe!!. This track is so amazing; moody, atmospheric, and laced with a sense of doom.
I've listened to and contemplated this track since I first heard it years ago. It reminds me of how the sky used to look back when I was a kid, running carefree and playing outside in the country. I'm so glad this music exists. Not a fangirl, just an appreciative human-oid.
@SuburbanoidMisfit111 No you definitely sound like a fangirl. Once you start liking a song, that's when you've gone too far. Turn back while you still can. No I'm just kidding, carry on with whatever you were doing.
@VZZH lol i do exactly the same thing. I have very found BOC moments in my life which stand out. Testament to the great music, that is not only unique but fascinatingly touching to
@ihadaface it's called a Julia set fractal. You can find more information on wikipedia by searching "Julia set fractal" on google. The different change in shapes and shift in colors are achieved by altering the input parameters used to generate such shapes (and then snitched toghether in an awesome animation I must add on a personal note).
At the pool today with my kids and their little friend, this song reminded of my own childhood fun days as I watched them enjoy a freeze frame of theirs. This music from BoC is magical.
Im only after watching a documentry about the Omagh bombing on the BBC panorama website...and theres music in it that i think belongs to Boards of Canada and i cant find it!!! I NEED TO FIND IT even if it means il sit here all night!! :/ btw this song rocks!
@Ryansvids99 Haha, I do hope you will find it man. Did you know that the Boards are being used quite frequently in documentaries? (A couple of times @ Louis Theroux for example) It's always such a delight for me to hear them, as it reassures me to regain faith in TV. A dying medium, at least here in the Netherlands (commercial channels are suuuch rubbish. Not that I REALLY care for I'm not the habitual TV watcher, but still .. bad quality, it says a lot about a lot nowadays.)
sealions rousing their skulls between rock jams along the beach, testing the vertrebrae against curious fracture, because they finally knew they could go insane in twilights valley, and the aptitude within to tremors of gas and hysteria, and that the keepers who once tended this harbor were of an expired case.
guys, I like this band, I'm a musician, I smoke weed, and I'm all for loving music outwith the mainstream, spiritual enlightenment and simple hedonism. But can we stop with all the massively gay comments. they just don't seem genuine, people are like "Yeeeah man so this music is like everybody's smiles rolled up into one big q-tip that went into my ears and cleaned out my brain. Im in love <3". I mean, BARF...
@andymc24 yeah but for some people this music is life changing, it was for me. I started listening to BOC when I was 15 (found them out on a salad fingers cartoon on fat-pie.com) and since listening to them then its like my whole perspective on music and even the world around me has changed. Obviously I've grown up a lot now too (im 22 now) and a lot of other musicians have helped develop my taste but BOC played a monumental part in that and it does sometimes feel overwhelming
It's such a fascinating concept... imagine having a day to see life through the eyes and mind of a kid again. Some thoughts and perspectives stay the same forever, but others are left behind and never revisited again. Surely there are negative traits abandoned when one's childhood ends, but what about positive ones? For example, I know I felt a lot more hopeful and free-spirited when I was younger...
@ffrmaster What a peculiar statement. What do you think fractals are? That's like saying "What are those triangles doing? I didn't know they could move."
@JayDee98765 To put it simply... Some of the greatest moments in my life were when I was walking in the forest near my home, completely alone, listening to this song. Other than that... I really couldn't put my feelings for Boards of Canada into words. Which kind of makes sense, given their style of music.
@matticusmusic Tranquility of solace? I think I know what you mean... personnel I get that when ever I jog in the morning. My mind's just blank, it's great. Then the day to day stuff rushes in and chaos breaks out in my head. Check out "seananners why so serious" in the search bar ^, the guy in the vid talks about this..

this music plays on repeat in the elevator as you descend into hell, and than when the door opens when you get to hell a 400 lb woman shits liquid feces into your face for all eternity, which is 3 days, than the last thing you remember is getting your dick chopped off by needles, and you wake up, it was all a dream.
@shenmue4life My idea of hell is more subtle. Constant feeling of hunger while sitting at a royal feast. Reach for the turkey but your body has no substance and your hand passes through like a ghost. This repeats infinitely. Or complete darkness and silence for eternity. Or the inability to sleep despite being physically and mentally exhausted, forever.
