This cover is amazing, it blows me away every time. If I look away for a moment I cant help feeling like I'm actually listening to Yes play the song. Not only are the instrumentals spot on (not to mention that the guitar and keyboard effects are perfect), but so is your voice! My only request is if you have a Youtube page for the group so its easier to find all the covers. Anyway great job guys, keep it up!
just amazing as always!!! everyone did an awesome job...and the guitar part at 2:35 is beautiful and not so easy...I remember it took me a lot time when I tried to learn it at the age of 11 :)
OMG guys, this is so tight, you all did an freakin' amazing job on this underrated classic of the great YES. Congratulations to each and every one of you, it's really really GREAT!!!!!
Wow...I was reading the comments before I started watching and I thought "Yeah, right, whatever. Probably ain't gonna be nuthin'...." Totally awesome. The musicianship was really tight and the singer is a dead ringer for Jon. Amazing stuff, and thanks for posting ! Keep it up. Very impressed.
Yes-Drama - One of the best executions of a bad idea in the history of music PERIOD. Think about it: You're replacing (arguably) the most distinctive members of Yes (Anderson and Wakeman) with the BUGGLES??!! REALLY??!! And it's their best album since Relayer. Only YES could pull that off. Oh yeah, that cover was great too!
@Zzyyxxyyxx I think that "bad idea" worked fine only because of the Power Trio backbone sound, Horn produced the album with. I mean, let's be real, G. D's. playing was dispensable.
Hey, guys! what about a cover of one of the Rabin Era songs? One from Talk (their most underrated album by their own fans) I think "Real Love" would be awesome.
Really good job.I think progressive rock is by far the most demanding form of rock from a musicianship and vocal standpoint and you have nailed it.Maybe a version of Genesis Suppers Ready would be cool to try or Fifth of Firth.
Now that I can actually comment again (!), WONDERFUL job all around! Every musician was suited particularly well for this effort. And the video editing was superb, Rich!
Beautiful, excellent work by everyone. I'm going to give this one several listens. Pretty damn good job by Richie for his first video. Dave don't need no stinkin' Rickenbacker! That Hagstrom sounds great with the effects. Really enjoyed this one!
Wow, wow, wow. Brilliant job. Very impressive musically but also in the video and sound editing. Ah, what labour of love can accomplish! :D Thanks for putting this together, guys. Hats off very low from Montreal, Canada.
Just fantastic Tim! You guys have done what I would have thought to be an impossible task....Everyone is spot on - ESPECIALLY your vocals. Don't stop till you have all those yes songs in the can. Subscribe? ...YES!
@hiddenfire65 You know what? I DO listen to Stewart Copeland but I have to strongly disagree with you about that "style" in the original. Not even close! Especially since I played Alan White's track almost note for note with some minor sound surface changes such as using the ride cymbal on the "in the north sky" verses.
GREAT!!..I have no words for this wonderful creation!! Thanks for sharing!cool..this looks so very professionell! congratulations! HAPPY 2012 to all! Sunny :)
Tim, Guys frickin' well done! Great vocals (I'm not worthy Tim) and tight, demanding instrumentals through the entire song. You guys blow me away. Just outstanding. My next door neighbors are probably wondering why they just heard me clap and yell "YEAH!, F**KING YEAH!!!!!!!!!!" If the neighbors haven't gotten a sense of humor by now, they never will...
Very well done! Thanks for sharing this. I almost thought I was listening to the original recording. Someday I plan to do a death metal cover version of "Machine Messiah," if I can ever get off my lazy ass and figure out all the instrumental parts.
Killer vocals Tim! You never fail to impress me! I'm always happy to see members of our circle of YouTube members come together to pull off such ambitious projects! Hey YouTube, the bar has been set!
Speaking only for myself (and I mean no offense to anyone- not Yes fans or any current members of Yes either),but I would pay to see more of what I just watched, and I would not pay to see Yes in its current form.
Folks - a sidebar: in all the comparisons don't forget it was Trevor Horn who tracked this (he was lead singer in Yes for the Drama album) not Jon Anderson. Ol' Trevor deserves some credit too!
The first time, when I heard Tim singing, I knew HE WAS THE MAN for this and here it has been proven, HE SIMPLY IS! Uncomparably outstanding vocals which I dare to say Jon Anderson wouldn`t have made it better! His endeavor always trying to surpass himself earned me almost a dozen of vocal tracks, where I already was happy with the first ones he sent me. Tim, you are a true talent, and you should be on the big stages, the more I am proud to have you here working with me! THANK YOU MY FRIEND!
I've always wanted wanted to hear some Drama material with Jon on vocals, and this is as close as I've gotten. :) I genuinely preferred it to contemporary live versions of the song by the real band. And speaking of the real band, I would very much prefer Tim to their current singer. I can't think of a better singer for the band except for Jon himself.
This cover is amazing, it blows me away every time. If I look away for a moment I cant help feeling like I'm actually listening to Yes play the song. Fuckin' YES!!
Excellent.
This is absolutely perfect.
Is like seeing Ronaldo, Messi, Rooney, Drogba and Neymar playing in a same team.
Or the UNION line up touring again.
Big fan of your works.
Cheers.
