YouTube - Broadcast Yourself.

I have noticed that whenever Rick Warren, Oprah, and now Richard Abanes make any kind of religious statement VCY America/Slice of Laodicea start barking like watch dogs. I wonder if their priorities are really about a relationship with God or with ferreting out Christians who do not conform to their particular version of Evangelicalism?

Did you just say that the bible is non negotiable? You've just closed your mind to the reality of God! How would you feel if I said that the Koran was non negotiable?

Anyway I've had the same problem with Mr.Abanes. I've redone my show on him so many times all because of a picture. This man like you people I'm sure can quote what Jesus' biographers said,but when someone else has a different opinion your all over them on what it all really means. Seems only true Christians can get it right!

As Christians, shouldnt we be lifting eachother up? Shouldnt we take the log out of our own eye before we take the spec out of our brothers? I never heard of this man, but you are doing exactually what you say you dislike from him.-You even posted a link to his page. IF you do not want anything to do with him, why are you promoting him?

I pretty much agree with this, but with all of the anti-Biblical nonsense spouted by "Evangelicals" - especially the political types - it's hardly a surprise.

You really want to get in trouble with these so-called "Evangelicals" try asking them about Acts 5 and the FINANCIAL responsibilities that are demanded for church membership. Since it goes against their politics, they object.

I've been guilty of this too, and I know it's VERY hard to be delivered from it. Especially if you have a sizable ego, which I've had and regrettably still have.

Sounds like this guy (Abanes) does too...unless I'm just PROJECTING. ;)

Abanes has acted like a first rate jackass. He frequently tells YouTube to pull down videos with a few seconds of his image and then uses massive amounts of Oprah footage with Eckhart Tolle. Double standard. He needs to grow up. This audio clip is horrifying. This kind of characterization of Bible-believers as "one step from David Koresh" is appalling coming from someone who says he is a researcher and apologist. Apologist for what?

If you consider yourself to be outside of the faith and you happened to stumble upon this video, let me say I'm sorry! I'm sorry that you are seeing Christianity as Jesus did NOT intend it to be! I'm sorry that you may run as fast as you can from Christianity as a result of this kind of "family feuding". Just as in a real family...I can't pick my brothers and sisters. I love them, but they are not acting like a family right now! Hopefully you will see Jesus modeled from somewhere else!

The spoken opposition may not be coming from those outside the faith, but don't kid yourself in thinking that it isn't there! The three ring circus that your camp & the Abanes camp have put on display almost trumps the world of politics! In a sincere attempt to "protect the truth" you are creating larger walls, bigger rifts, and completely distorting the image of Jesus Christ. Just leave it alone and move on...I keep waiting for a "lipstick on a pig comment" from either your side or the other!

This Richard Abanes character is really something. In my opinion people like him are not worth getting worked up over. He is a man that writes terrible books based on sensationalism and then somehow fashions himself as some kind of "Christian apologetic". Whenever his comments start to bother you, think of his body of work, laugh it off, and remember who you are dealing with. The mans theology demonstrates that he could care less about being taken seriously. Do yourself a favor and let it go.

What's interesting is that if you go to Abanes' account here on YouTube, he has no place for people to post comments on his page here.

I guess he is not one to take criticism (but that he appears to be ready to dish it out against his well-thought-out critics).

Isn't Abanes:

1. Slanderer 2. Persecutor 3. Paranoid against critical thought 4. A kind of xenophobic response to any and all attempts to have a greater logical coherency or actually reality between faith and the Christ of the Bible?

It is time to call the bluff of "Evangelicals" who are distorting the Gospel. If they preach another Gospel, let's say so. If they don't believe, let's say so. We actually have a faith in a definite, immovable, real God. Let's preach it to the world...
