1. Nightwish - the other two bands are nowhere in league with Nightwish, their musical style, abilities and talent are far beyond WT and Evanescence's reach. "Nemo" (the song in this video) is merely a commercial product made for TV promotion (usually 2-3 of these in each album). Songs like "Poet and the Pendulum", "Beauty of the beast", "Ghost love score", "Devil and the deep dark ocean" display their full power.

Catchy/repetitive poppy tunes does not make a band better than another.

2. Within Temptation, I listen to their material now and then. "Enter" + "Mother Earth" were fine, but afterwards, the whole symphonic metal thing didn't work out for them, it sounded more like the musicians were hiding behind an orchestra, this cheesy era lasted for a few albums. However, it was not the case for their recent album, The Unforgiving, where they have significantly toned down the orchestra and focused more on rock instead of metal. Most of their music are commercially focused.

3. Evanescence is not very symphonic or metal at all so I'm not sure why they are compared with the other two. Evanescence is blatantly trying too hard to be commercial/popular (their attempts in getting their music into the Twilight movies). Most of their fans are commercial-kids. To me, they are just a typical rock band making a mockery of gothic material.

1.) NIGHTWISH: They just make the most epic and bombastic music/ way better songwriting than the other two bands, and both singers, Tarja and Anette are awesome.

2.) WITHIN TEMPTATION: Not as epic as Nightwish, but their songs are catchy, so i like them.

3.) EVANESCENCE: Very commercial, songwriting is boring, and the voice is kind of annoying.

I can see Within Temptation working with Nightwish, since those bands always support each other (Kamelot did several collabs with Epica's lead singer, who did a collab with sonata arctica, whose lead singer was a special guest in nightwish, whose ex-lead singer worked with Liv Kristine from Leave's Eyes, etc etc. ) but Evanescence is out of the picture, don't you think?

1. Within Temptation. Sharon den Adel is amazing! She's my role model! I'm naming my second baby girl after her! And the entire band in general is beauty beyond beauty! I just wish they still had Stephen.

2. Nightwish. With or without Tarja, they're amazing! Nightwish with Tarja = Amazing! Nightwish with Anette = Amazing! There is no more that needs to be said.

3. Evanescence. Amy's powerful vocals are the icing on the cake!

There's something to be respected out of all 3 bands for sure but Evanescence was the first band I listened to out of all of them since I first heard them in 2003 I loved them. It's not until recently that I started to listen to Within Temptation and omg Sharon has a stunning voice. Nightwish I haven't heard of but I'll definitely be checking them out. Evanescence is my number one but I have an open mind lol I can listen and love all kinds of bands.
