  • I won many trophies in my youth using the kata and his performance or style of it is totally different from what I know or ever performed. I come from the original pioneers of teachers who brought karate to America so i think i know traditional form when i see it. this is not it.

  • @linsildiedar LOL! You may want to re-evaluate what you know. During my military career I've had to privilege of training with the TRUE Okinawa Sensei's for the last 40 years! And since I live in Okinawa and have been for 30 years I would say I have seem it all. I've also watched many watered down versions of kata be performed by so called pioneers that took the kata from Okinawa and changed many things. If you every get a chance to come to Okinawa...let me know we'll train! :))

  • Kewl Kewl

I finished learning this kata last month

I hope to get my purple belt soon

  • Amazing, that this person claim to represent Okinawa Karate, but perform his

kata like mainland style Karate, big and flashy movements with deep stances... I've spent a lot of

time in Okinawa, but never ever seen kata like this. I know that the Kyan-related

kata from Seiki Toma, Shian Toma, Fusei Kise are all related to Shimabukuro Zenryo sensei,

but these people never really trained with him, but just learned by watching the movements

in kata. Looks like japanese point-fighting to me.
