Its an interesting idea... spider mines once your opponent has swarm. Obviously tricky to pull off, but that zerg build doesn't really have anything against spider mines. (they are too fast for lukers to hit)

I think mind just spread jaedongs macro and micro capabilities beyond what he could handle a "mindoverload" if you will. there were half a dozen small and medium engagements all around the map and jaedong couldn't keep up with all of them, this being highlighted by the 3 marines taking out that evo chamber and queens nest while the lurker just watched. probably due to his slump...or his dog dying

I think it went downhill right after Jaedong panicked and just sent his forces right into Mind's forces without the swarm. I think if he was a bit more patient, he would have came out with that.

I don't really have favorites in Starcraft, but I was rooting for Jaedong, but I already know what Mind is capable of, so I wasn't thinking he would lose outright, so GG on Mind for proving a lot of people wrong.

He lost 15!! lurkerers & all his lings to basically a ctrl-group and a half of M&Ms and ONE tank...That's 1250 gas for 225...This huge blunder allowed Mind to gain map control.

GG I think tanks are crucial. Even with Darkswarm. 4 tank shots can kill a lurker under darkswarm before it gets burrowed. also this game was all about that 1st major attack. Minds tanks are positioned well and slaughter the lurkers. Jaedong waiting for swarm would have helped him out there alot.

I am somehow not sure if tanks might not even be a smart idea. Science vessels are way more gas intensive and spread out tank also deal some damage, even with dark swarm. And tanks got a great range as well to deal damage before the Zerg can engage at all.

The early tanks really won it for Mind, though. They are great against lurkers (which Jaedong massed). They also let him seige the expo (which prompted the first attack).

That and the one vulture with the spider mine, with two mines it killed maybe a dozen lings and a lurker. A little bit lucky, but they work great under dark swarm when you're retreating and he's piling his entire unit mass into a tiny area (generally without overlord support).

aahahaha great picture of mind at the end. Mind really showed a great performance, he was able to group his medic marine group well, barely losing anything to that muta harass. I dont think jaedong was off his game, just that mind took the advantage when he split the map with his turtle defense. and zerg has to be one base ahead, so I think mind did the right thing.

I'm a protoss player and I respect each and every zerg player because it is really hard to play zerg. (ZvP seems ok but ZvT is very hard!) Terran should somehow be rebalanced or zerg should be given an advantage against terran. Even TvP has it's difficulties for protoss because vultures are so god damn cheap and it's impossible to stop terran's mass ground army with protoss mass ground unless you get some psi storms.Even with the storm you get a draw!(See jangbi vs NADA) Thanks to mole and dig.
